I am not one to point out small mistakes in someones add...but come on!!!!!FULL BELL LINE????????WHAT THE HECK!!!!
I am not sure but I dont believe I will ever buy from someone that cant even tell the difference between Franklin Half and Mercury Dimes....I dont really think that is a Bell on the reverse of a mercury.....by the way, this guy does it all the time....
Thought I would finally start a thread...just for kicks.

  • It figured that it would just be a matter of time before you Merc guys would try to steal our FBL designation LOL. Kinda like when my wife asked me one time "is that one of those Franklin Halves with Roosevelt on it?" Soooooo cute! LOL

    Beth:

I found one !! I had to Email the Seller and question him on the fact if the coin actually has Full Bell Lines also. They look a little weak to Me but who am I to say on a sort of rare coin like this. If you want I will try to get this coin for you at a Very Reasonable price. First one I've seen in quite some time so maybe the seller is aware of the scarcity of this coin. If the price is out of line just for a Designation I'll pass and wait for a absolute FB/FBL coin for you.

Hey, I think I saw one of those Franklin Dimes once. I think it was on New Years Eve 1967. Yes, it's coming back to me now. I woke up on top of a sand bag wall in Siagon. Didn't feel too good either.

I didn't realize the 16-D was up to 32,500 in VF. Must of taken too long a nap this afternoon.

    LOL, Jon

LOL I just love these threads. I knew that someone with merc dimes would start something like this. How will this FBL affect the weights on our mercury dimes now.

I looked really hard, but I couldn't find the bell on that '26-S. That's the second Merc with FBL's that I've seen advertised recently. A major dealer had one on his website a couple of weeks ago. It's not there now, so he must have sold it or corrected it.

Sheesh! If a '16-D in VF is $32,500, I'll never be able to afford one in MS. Maybe that price is in lira or pesos, or something......

Ken, that's a clever photo. Wish I could do that with my camera or software.

I emailed the David Lawrence coin co about thier FBL merc, they changed it...lol
And as far as playing with the camera, I think Ken has it down pat....good job!

Yes I do like to play around with the camera but basically just take pictures of the Mercs trying to get them as correct as I possibly can. Below is the old 39D that is basically correct and looks like it should when presented in public.

Under No circumstances will I ever Enhance a coin for show on these forumns or for the purpose of trying to sell the coin. To myself this is just a deplorable means in which people try to deceive the public whether for show or for profit. Moral standards enter into this subject and At All times I try very hard to uphold the Standards I have set for myself. If at any time any of You Folks think I have enhanced a Photo, please call my Azz on it and I will explain if the photo is Mine or if it was Pirated from another site, as I do this from time to time to put them into My Set. Again Enhancement is Wrong and Very Deplorable in My mind. Never will You see it from Me. Thanks for your time with this Tiraid I have Vented today.

  • I liked that toning on the first '39 D and was going to ask if that is what the coin really looked like. Then I saw the dehanced version... Yah, I like the first shot better... Oh well I'll start playing once I get a digi cam..
