Dutch Auction... 09-S VDB... but 1 is PCGS, the other is NGC!

Here's an odd auction... 1909-S VDB Lincolns. Items 2. One PCGS, the other NGC. High bidder gets choice of both or 1 of his/her choice. Says your are bidding on one or both... some might claim their bid was for both.

I feel this is wrong, as the lower bidder is encouraged to take the lead to not get the lesser coin. You may be compelled to pay more for the better coin to avoid paying even more above value for the lesser.

Anyone follow me?

Sorry but im not very good at understanding but i do think that its not fair to the lower bidder.

Hey, look at that. The lower bidder bid on 2 items. By e-bay rules, since both cannot be provided he/she can back out of the deal.

I wonder if the high bidder thought he/she was getting both coins? That is way to much for an AU58. Mark

It was a dutch auction the high bidder get 1 coin for $905
The second high bidder has the option because he bid on 2 coins of taking the 2nd coin for $905 (but he can refuse if he wants to). If he does the seller is stuck with the coin.

Pretty creative but I wonder if he wouldn't have just done better auctioning these two off in separate auctions? Other than the eBay fees (minimal) for the extra listing and the time spent formulating the auction, I don't see the disadvantage.

I haven't gotten a reply yet. I will be interesting to see if both bidders weere happy with the results of the auction.
