Well,Handle this.

Do you hate "handleling" charges as much as I do?Don't "handle" my coins, just put the $5 coin in a frigging envelope and send me the damn thing.Handeling is for big business, that pay worker bees.$4 for a $1coin is a ripoff to E-Bay and me.I'm not as dumb as I look. Before you say "don't buy" I don't,and I have bought coins from $1 to $500. have sold many coins and coin books, and 99% have been free ship,or actual cost. What's happening?Blast me.

i used to hate the charge, but the more i actually had to package things, go to post office, wait in line, etc. etc. etc. the more i began to believe that the time/expense it took someone to get an item i purchased from them to me should be worth something. i actually believe it more in the case of lower ticket items because any profit margin that exists can easily be eaten away.
  • On the rare occasions when I sell, I keep my shipping very low. Basically the cost of materials (buble mailer) and postage/insurance. That is the way I think it should be done but I am not runnig a business with any overhead.

When bidding, I just subtract the S/H/I amount from what I think the coin is worth and bid that amount. If shipping isn't listed, I pass.
Time sure flies when you don't know what you are doing...

You actually brought this up in the Buy, Sell and Trade board awhile ago, and you know what? Your right. I took your advise and now charge the appropriate $1.00 shipping. Insurance optional. And of course combine shipping to further reduce the costs. Thanks for the advice BTW. It only makes sense.
