This is a market update of what was going on today at the Hagerstown, MD Coin Show.
.
Gold seemed to be selling extremely well. Several tables I stopped by were selling (actual buyers there) certified classic gold pieces in both raw and certified.
.
Morgan and Peace dollars seemed lifeless.
.
Type coins were in high demand. Numerous collectors were looking for both certified and raw type coins. The coin I heard asked for the most was MS63 or better half dimes, circ. 2cent and 3 cent pieces weren't far behind.
.
Proof sets seemed to be selling briskly.
.
State quarters had little interest.
.
The public was out in force selling circulated Morgans, Walking Liberty halves and junk foreign coins.
.
There appears to be lots of money changing hands.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
