Mr Hagar was at a show I attended a week ago-the people who run this show are not the most ethical-a table fee was what was important-kept announcing that ACG was set up to grade at the show-only charging $5.95 on the spot. Every time ACG was announced, a ripple of laughter inundated the bourse floor- I think I heard his slabbing machine run twice during the 8 hours I spent there. I loved it!
Wow, that's really sad. What's sadder still is that the coin is a whole lot better looking than so many of their "original", "non-problem" ones. Wouldn't it be a hoot if it was an original, uncleaned piece? ROFL.
I also have an ACG slab that's labeled "cleaned". I claim it is the lowest-value slab in existance.
A 1929-S Lincoln, with that "pencil eraser" pink color, in an ACG VF Cleaned slab.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

I'd risk 6 bucks and give him some counterfeit stuff... I have a very well done counterfeit seated quarter... he'd probably over grade its VFness into an original AU (and the black toning would deserve the RAINBOW(TM) label )

(I wouldn't hold my breath, though.)
