Why do dealers/sellers not have images?

Does anyone else get annoyed when they see something which may interest the mand the there is no image?

Out of curiousity I often browse through varies sites and auctions and every now and then there is a dealer who has no photos on some really high end coins [$1k+]. How on earth do they expect to move the piece w/o a photo? Same with many online auctions for expensive pieces.

While a photo is only a starting point it certainly is a good one I would think vs. no image.

Dealers/sellers are you listening?

  • Speaking from experience, when your inventory contains hundreds or thousands of coins which are changing hourly, it is a little difficult to scan every coin and keep up on a timely basis. Usually a quick email to the dealer will do the trick if there's something you want to see.

If it's not a dealer and there aren't that many coins, believe me, there are many people who can get their computer to bring them to the internet, and that's about it. No scanning, photos etc. Too complicated. I deal with a couple of dealers locally, who just send me coins that I ask about as opposed to emailing images. It's easier for them to get the coins in the mail!!!! I still can't load images to this site. I think it's because I have a Mac. So, I go photoless image

  • I agree with BigD5. Some people don't have a clue how to take pictures and get them posted. Look at some of the sellers who put a picture and it is totally useless, either blurry or it looks like a dot, etc.
