You know, some people say Marilyn Manson and Eminem should not be allowed to make music. They say it's trashy, offensive, misogynistic, and all sorts of other things. They say a line should be drawn, in the name of sensitivity. Well, if you ban them, where do you stop. It's a slippery slope, and soon you find that a few people are deciding what information the larger masses get to see.

This board, like any public forum, is a microcosm of that example. With any free expression of ideas, you get some good, some wonderfully creative, some offensive, some nondescript. But you allow them all, and you take part only in those you enjoy. It's a simple model, and it's worked here for over 200 years.

That is the argument I made on pugsley's post. Like it or not, the post I've made has generated a ton of response. The people have spoken, and some people find that post "good." Others find it "offensive." Either way, it's no one's call as to whether it should be allowed to stay. If people don't like a post, the people will speak and the post will drop, just like if people don't like an artists they will make their voices heard by not buying.

Actually, I disagree with you. It is someone's right to decide what goes and stays on these boards....this forum is not your personal place for freedom of speech. If you want your freedom of speech, then you need to set up your own website or get on the phone and call up your friends, or write a book or whatever. This website is the property of Collector's Universe and as so they have the right to decide what is appropriate and not appropriate. I guess we will see if they continue to think that the type of stuff being posted on these boards is the way they want their company to be represented.....

Okay just a thought here. You say there should be NO POSTS THAT ARE OFF THE TOPIC OF BUY/SELL/TRADE OF SPORTS. Then by your standards we shouldn't have had all the posts about duncangal's broken ankle, colton's friend, KBryant's cousin, AirJordan's house, and the list goes on. All of those were off the topic of Sports Cards but no one had anything to say. So I guess what your saying is Off Topic posts should be deleted but only the ones that you don't like. I guess there are two edges on the sword.

i have nothing aginst uwftke26 and i kinda thought some of the stuff i read was funnie but i don;t belive this was the right place to do it. Cracking on some one and jokeing around brakes the bordom but some things are better left out. There are alot of younger kids on the net and none of us realy thought about the ladies on here either. I mean there is a thing called respect and i realy don;t think we showed any respect to anyone. I didn;t post any story on the post but i did say i thought some of it was funnie. some of it was. but also some was down right nasty and should not be posted i mean this is a free fourm but even free fourms have rules about some things. I don;t think anyone should get in trouble for anyposts or anything i just think we need to think before we post.

This is a forum for people to come together to engage in the FUN of sportscard collecting.I like funny stuff just as much as the next person but not at the expense of others.There is a line of decorum & believe me & the other good people on this forum know just how far you dropped below it.But hey,this is only my opinion;you said to "hear you out".Well i just wanted my chance to be heard also.
