Selling the coin; not the slab

Would it be reasonable to expect that a semi key Morgan in an ANACS slab which is being sold by a well respected high end dealer to be a cut above the rest as far as ANACS slabbed coins go or is that just wishful thinking on my part? IOW do they sell the cherries and wholesale off the so so average stuff?

If you are dealing with a well respected dealer then you should have a return option.
If it dosen't live up to the grade in person return it.

The only thing I don't like about anacs slab's is they don't fit in ngc or pcgs boxes.

I'm not a Morgan person, but my understanding of ANACS is that they are pretty good with the series. This'll bump for you so maybe an expert will pop in.

i think its a bad assumption. you must see the coin 1st hand before deciding that they are selling you something primo.

either see the coin 1st, or make sure you have a full return policy.

I think you have to judge each coin on it's own merits, no matter who is selling it. A lot of dealers will offer new material to want list clients, and if the coins are passed up, they will move into inventory. Whether that means "wholesaling" or "retailing".......kind of a grey area. Probably depends on how long the coin sits in inventory.
