Going to try out (if possible) for college basketball team. Hope I make it :)

Try-outs are October 1st and 2nd. Right now, my left ankle is screwed up pretty bad (rolled to left and forward at same time, so can't run) and injured my upper right leg at work tonight (another employee's idiocracy), but still have over a month to heal (and I heal pretty fast)

Talked to basketball coach last year, and he pretty much said I don't have a chance (no room on the roster) for that year, but I've been playing pick-up games with some of the players from last year. Today, I was playing with one of the players I know well, and he told me I should try out for the team this year

I still have my defensive skills and my shooting ability is progressively becoming better, so I just need to work on my passes (and get them to the level of my usual level), and I'll actually have a chance.

Funniest thing is......I've been a center almost all my life when playing basketball, but if I make the team this year, I'll probably be a SG (MAYBE SF).

good luck. Baskettball was never my strong point. i was more of a football guy and a little baseball.

I've played baseball, basketball, and football for my HS. Started every year except for football (only because I didn't make it to required pre-camp). I only went out because I felt sorry for the team (didn't even have enough players to play). I ended up doing pretty good, but didn't play senior year because coaches were morons.

Starting MLB averaged about 7-8 tackles/3 quarters (than he'd always get hurt). I'd go in in the 4th quarter as the back-up (1 QTR only), and I averaged 10-11 tackles/quarter. In one home game, I had 4 tackles in a row (kept hearing my name called...."Aaron Myford with the tackle)

I'll be surprised if I even make the basketball team though for college (considering I sat the bench 1/2 the time as a senior), but my coach was a moron too.

Hey....if someone can have 14 steals in 1 game against the defending champions, I think he deserves to start, don't you?

thanks guys. Hey....if I can play great defense against some of the players from the team and I can make them look stupid a few times while I'm on offense, I think I have the SLIGHTEST of a chance

Hey, guys......I went to the gym to shoot around a little bit 2x's this week. Today (when I went), I shot 72% from 3-point range (or beyond) and about 69% (good #) from the floor overall. Now, if my leg can heal up quickly and I can stay healthy through the 1st week of October, I'll have a chance to try out

Hopefully my leg will completely heal before this coming Sunday. If it does, I'll be able to play in a football game THEN, if I don't get injured again, I'll be able to go out and play some pick-up games with some guys in the gym (a few of them are on the team)
