My latest purchase (indian proof)

I like it. It looks like posible NCS candidate to bring both sides of the coin to its glory. It looks to me like it was on a piece of velvet or cloth for years and one side toned. I sent two coins to mrdq to "buddy" them with his NCS coins. If they do what they claim they can do this is another good candidate if mrdq doesn't mind doing the extra work for me image.
a great coin from a great dealer, I cannot wait 'till it gets here

I hope that big scratch is on the holder.

I agree, the coin does look great- I would be interested to see the "after" picture after NCS. It does look like it could use a little attention, but that obverse is lovely; looks almost CAM to me.

As to the "big scratch" the others pointed out, my eyesight (or this monitor) must be failing me? image I don't see it.

PS (after a third look): Are they maybe talking about that hairline from the nose? I'd hardly call that a "big scratch". However, it is a significant hairline if it is on the coin. But it doesn't bother me too awfully much. Maybe it's on the holder. It will be interesting to see what you think of it after it arrives. It may pleasantly surprise you. I had one with neat colors on it. It looked similar in color to yours when scanned flat on the glass, but when scanned at a slight angle, the colors were visible:

It was not in the same class as yours, being a much lower technical grade (ANACS PR62 RB). But it had undeniable eye appeal. It was not an expensive coin. I regret having sold it last year.

Do you have the coin in your hands yet, and think it will upgrade? To send it to NCS, it will only come back in an NGC slab, or raw. This is the type of coin that does MUCH better in a pcgs holder. Be careful. I would imagine, coming from David L., that the coin sold for a premium. I guess I'm just wondering how much you want to sink into the coin. Of course, if you plan on keeping it for a llllooonnnnngggg time, the costs don't matter as much. Nice coin, by the way image

super looking coin! I would leave it just as it is. You can always have it worked on by NCS. I would keep it and enjoy the way it is at least for awhile. image mike

I am not sure NCS will conserve that coin. They seem to be very cautious with bronze. IMO that is a beautiful coin as is. image

BigD5. This coin will stay with me for a long, long time. I have really hard time selling any of my coins (except moderns). I'm not sure if it upgrades but I would like this coin to look the same on both sides, I think the doning is distracting. (as far as investment goes I paid PF66BR NOT RB money for it so it's worth the risk.

mrdq I don't have it yet. once you get the package send it don't wait for it. I paid with the check it may take a while befoe I see it.

That is one nice babe! It is the indian princess, after all, on the coin!
  • While I have sent one coin to NCS with good results I wouldn't send that one. It has a beautiful obverse. Personally I don't find the reverse distracting. It can be sent to NCS anytime, but once done it can never be undone.
