I remember when this was first announced 2 or 3 years ago. I think there was an article in Coin World maybe. It sounds like something that may pan out. Mark

Sounds like a new reason to bodybag a coin: Un-tonable

I wonder if this is like siliconing. I've seen the result when it is applied with an alcohol carrier which evaporates. It is truly invisible, but the coin finish looks unnatural, kinda wet.

Ha! That's funny....FAT SAM. Seriously though, it seems to be a good idea I guess. But I'm skeptical about the claim that it can't be seen or smelled or detected. If the molecules are thinner than a wavelength of light then wouldn't it prevent light from reaching the coin's surface and render the coin unviewable? And if light CAN still reach the surface of the coin, then wouldn't that be enough to tone it? Especially if the coin wasn't cleaned before being coated..
