Slates commentary on State Quarter design

A friend sent me the following link from Slate magazine re: how the state quarter design could have been handled better. The best part is reading the commentary in the slide show. They also show a rejected Missouri design that you can see why it was rejected. I wonder if it is the same one that NPR talked about where the designer is defacing 4,000 quarters because he is angry they didn't select his design.
