Hit the Chelmsford Ma. coin show today.

Seemed busy, with lots going on, to me anyway. Sold a few coins. Saw a pretty rare NGC pf/65 half dime with price tag of approx. $19k. Didn't get into any negotiations with that one. A Pittman coin, 1842 I think, maybe 20 pieces known. I was wondering how many collectors would walk by that one, and never realize how rare and expensive a coin it was, and never bothering to take a peak. A few dealers were complaining about how NGC was beating their coins up........I guess that will always be going around, with all the services. I wasn't able to stay too long, long enough to pick up a few things, although nothing too special. Hitting a show is never a BAD thing.

I hit the show today too. Couldn't find anything I was looking for, but I showed up kinda late around 1:00pm. I picked up a buffalo book I didn't have and some State quarter stuff for my mother (don't ask) . Nice hotel though..my first time at that show.

It's usually not upstairs, and has a few more tables than were present today. The hotel had a scheduling snafu, and had to move the show upstairs to the "smaller" room. It's usually downstairs in the bigger room.

BigD5, that half dime may have been an 1846 (ex-Pittman) graded NGC PF 65. It's being offered at $19.5K by a Mass. dealer. The coin came out of the Goldberg's June Long Beach sale at around $12K (under CDN PF 64 money).
