IKE for PCGS?

The colors are brighter than the scan shows. They actually show better than I usually get them to.image
Will it come back in a bag for Questionable Color/Toning?image

  • I'm trying to imagine how that looks in real life, your photo seems artificially lightened.

If it matches the little picture in my head, then it looks like others I've seen with album tone, and should (theoretically) be ok. Doesn't mean you won't have to try a few times though. image

Looks like a very nice clean coin as well. How's the reverse strike?

Album toning is right. the rev. strike is average. Color is nice. I did the scan with the lid part way up to make the colors show. I need to get a camera. A year or so back I sent in a large group of early lincolns with album toning. Most were baged. Ouchimage Maybe I will have better luck with the IKEs.

  • Larry:

Look at the coin under a 10X glass. If the surface of the coin has teeny marks all over it as most Ikes do - you'll get an ms64 grade or less, which may not be worth your time. This is the voice of experience talking.

    Regards,

  • Yes, but it's a nicely toned Ike. In any grade PCGS holder I will personally make it worth his time and a half. image
  • In that case I bow to the voice of experience.
