The black holder looks nice. There has been some discussion here about whether PCGS should continue the practice.

This isn't a case of "buy the slab, not the coin" is it? image

    Nice slab.

Kind of ironic that the focus of the sales pitch is on the rarity of the holder rather than the coin.

The black holder was used for a very short time. Grading standards were tougher then. Most have been "cracked" for sure. Most bring premiums, even for next grade, at auction. Please note I said most. K

    Hey - the label's backward!
  • No the label isn't backwards, That was the way the marketing consultants advised them to do it. The said it was very important to keep your logo before you customers so it should appear on the same side as the obverse of the coin since that was the more important side. The slab flopped, the consultants got booted and the label was moved to the obverse side on the second generation holder.
  • the holder makes Blast-white coins look better and darker tones like poo-poo.

I like it with silver in it but I don't think copper would work in it for me. I always thought slabs with silver should be a dark color white is just to plain
