Heh heh, Falcons beat those Cowgirls...er...Cowboys. Falcons are looking awesome this pre-season. With Vick as the new starting QB and his improvement (obviously), the Falcons are looking good. With the additions of Warrick Dunn and Duckett, the RB situation is pretty much covered. Steve Young and John Elway has been tutoring Vick and this guy is going to be a star. He's already starting to look and play like he did when he was at VT, and if he plays the same way in the reg. season, he's going to reak havoc on the rest of the NFL! I predict 9-7 for the Falcons this season. GO FALCONS!

But, since the "fluke" of '98, I've had nothing to be proud of until we got Vick, and him being the starting QB this season makes life a little better knowing we have a future superstar in the NFl playing for the Falcons.
by the way i think vick will be a very good q.b but i'd still do what the chargers did in a second by trading the # 1 ( vick ) and ending up with brees and tomlinson

<< <i>im sorry, who is looking awesome? the 3-0 Jets, who beat up on the Steelers, Ravens, and Giants, and who outscored opponents 78-29? oh ok...if you meant them, then its cool >>
Hey, Falcons are 3-0 also...
KBryant - would, if, coulda, woulda, shoulda...they lost!
As for the Falcons, I have them as my defensive sleeper, they apparently are very rejuvenated and their personel really works in the 3-4.

I'm a huge fanatic of the NY Giants. Always have, always will. I'm hoping(remeber, I'm HOPING) for a 8-8 season, but the Giants need a new QB. There wideouts are very good, as well as a good running game. Tiki's numbers aren't high, but thats because he doesn't get many touches. I think he averaged like 4.5-4.8 yds per rush last season. There not a great team, but they need to rid of Kerry "Imadrunk" Collins and Jason Sehorn. Peterson and Allen are becoming one of the better DB tandems in the NFL. This and next season are defenitly a rebuilding season.
But I don't think a 9-7 record for the Falcons are reasonable. If opposing teams know that all your gonna do is run, it's easy to shut them down.
Thito- I'm beginning to hate Spurrier, he somehow thinks that running up the score in the 3rd and 4th quarters impresses people. Yes he's got a great track record, but let's face it College ain't nothing like the NFL. He'll be a great coach, but having Shane Matthews and Danny Weurfull at QB. I can't wait til Spurrier tries those type of plays during the regular season, he'll end up looking stupid. But your right, the 'Skins defense is shaping up to be something special, espically since they got Marvin Lewis(Who the Ravens should have asked to be head coach, IMHO).
It'll be a good NFL season, since baseball and this strike stuff pisses me off. I can't wait til College FB saturday's and NFL sundays!! There's nothing like waking up late on sunday, coming downstairs and watching NFL all day.

this is a joke... i am SICK AND FU^KING TIRED OF PEOPLE B1TCHING ABOUT "RUNNING UP THE SCORE"... it's football - the object is to score points... u score as many as u can before the game ends... if this was ANYONE else but Spurrier, it wouldn't even be talked about... and WHO IS HE TRYING TO IMPRESS?! he's evaluating his QB's/WR's/RB's/OL etc etc etc... it's not his fault the defense cannot stop him... it's preseason and that's what u are suppose to do - EVALUATE TALENT...
besides, the Skins put up 16 points (could have easily been 21, a missed extra point and a TD that was called out of bounds even though a replay showed Gardner had both feet in) on Tampa's 1st team D last night... i bet 16 points is running up the score too... please... everyone in the NFL is so used to 'just getting by' in games and Spurrier doesn't play like that... why worry at the end of the game when u can put it away early... if it was your team, you'd say the same thing...
and that BS about college isn't the NFL, give me a break... stop listening to the media and think for yourself... FOOTBALL IS FOOTBALL... u say it won't work in the NFL because the talent is BETTER, right? well, going by that, that means his system should work even more... if the talent is better, then his players should execute the system BETTER... the Skins do have NFL players, not college rookies and walk-ons... u say Matthews and Wuerffel can't play, well please tell me why they lead the NFL preseason in every offensive category and have averaged WELL OVER 300 yards passing per game... ok so it's preseason... but tell me when they have put these type of #'s up in preseason before... exactly, u can't...
Spurrier will end up looking stupid? lol, i'ma remember that statement when he makes u and all his other doubters look stupid... don't be so blind just because u like a division rival... nobody, not me, not u, nobody can say whether his system will work or not... all we can do is speculate so stop trying to state facts when they are only opinions... hate him all u want, but u have to respect his offensive genius...
<< <i>I agree, the Redskins won't be able to do what they done on offense during the regular season, especially with the players they have on offense. The best two are ROd Gardner and Stephen Davis who will want out of Washington once he learns that Steve doesn't really care about the running game. >>
shows how much u really know... i've had a few football discussions with u before, and i really thought u were smarter than that... when are people going to realize u don't have to be a "popular" player to have talent... just because a players name isn't in the media every second doesn't mean that player can't play... the Skins have a lot more players on offense than Davis and Gardner... Gardner isn't even our best WR... in Spurrier's offense, the QB doesn't have to be the greatest QB in the NFL, but he does have to be smart... Wuerffel and Matthews are smart and can read a defense as good as any QB in the league... Davis will not want out of Washington because he's gonna thrive in Spurrier's offense... not only will Spurrier's passing game spread the defense, but it will take 8 men out of the box and open up a lot more holes for big #48... he might not get AS MANY carries, but he will get more QUALITY carries...
and u wanna talk about offense? don't even bring that up when talking about the Eagles... how many points have they scored against 1st string defenses this preseason? u don't know? i'll tell ya... 6 - 2 FG's in their last game (and i'd like to add against a new look HORRIBLE Ravens defense)... what about your boy McNabb? hmmm... let's see...
McNabb - 3 preseason games - 25/38, 213 yards, 8.52 ypa, 0 TD's, 0 INT's
that ypa was closer to 5 before the Baltimore game... his total yards also more than doubled after the Baltimore game... those aren't too great of #'s if u ask me... i'd break out Wuerffel or Matthews preseason #'s to compare to McNabb, but i don't wanna embarrass u... and if u wanna start saying that Andy Reid is being conservative and isn't using half of his playbook, then that is fine... but i will say the same thing about Spurrier... he hasn't even opened his playbook yet... so please don't start comparing offenses...

<< <i>Thito-I'd take the Eagles offense over the Redskins anyday. McNabb plays like a half at most during preseason games while Spurrier plays the same QB for like 3 quarters so you can't really compare offenses during the preseason. The Redskins have like 1 advantage on offense and thats at RB. Besides, what will Weurffel and Matthews do when the have to pass against the leagues best secondary? But who cares about statistics? Not me. Do you know why? Here's why. The Redskins can't even make the playoffs but yet the Eagles can even though the Redskins have a better offense in your mind. Let me guess, they also have the best defense in the league too? >>
funny how u try to back yourself up by making stuff up... please tell me when Spurrier has played a QB for 3 quarters this preseason? not one QB on our roster has played more than 2 quarters in a game... and Wuerffel and Matthews have played more than McNabb - u are correct... why? BECAUSE HE IS EVALUATING THEM! McNabb is the Eagles starting QB - Reid doesn't need to have a competition... the Skins, on the other hand, do... but that doesn't take away from the fact that Matthews and Wuerffel (and even our rookie who had his FIRST NFL ACTION last night) have outplayed McNabb easily... and our offense has made the Eagles offense look like a H.S. team...
and the Bucs have a pretty good secondary - one of the best in the league... Matthews abused them last night...
don't care about stats - i really don't... i only brought them up in this instance because they proved my point... sometimes stats can be misleading, but not in this case... and please don't start comparing defenses... other than the safety spots, the Eagles have nothing to compare to the Skins D...
the Eagles are a team that have never accomplished anything in their existence... they made ONE superbowl in 1981 and got embarrassed by Oakland... they have never even seen a Lombardi trophy and i'd be surprised if they ever do... they choke in big games and their front office will always be to cheap to sign quality players to long term deals... even the Giants have won 2 superbowls... please tell me what the Philadelphia Eagles have EVER DONE IN THE NFL?! awful quiet... i just heard a pin drop...
u don't wanna compare histories...
"and that BS about college isn't the NFL, give me a break... stop listening to the media and think for yourself... FOOTBALL IS FOOTBALL... u say it won't work in the NFL because the talent is BETTER, right? well, going by that, that means his system should work even more... if the talent is better, then his players should execute the system BETTER... the Skins do have NFL players, not college rookies and walk-ons"
Quit throwing around BS then. college ball is nothing like the NFL. Ron Dayne won the heisman trophy, look how he's been in the NFL. I can give more examples, but you should get the picture. You talk like the Skins have a good offense, you said it yourself, preseason stats don't matter. Then you go back and start stating preseason stats. Hypocrite.
"... u say Matthews and Wuerffel can't play, well please tell me why they lead the NFL preseason in every offensive category and have averaged WELL OVER 300 yards passing per game"
The main reason is, unlike other Starters(Mcnabb and guys like that) who only play at the longest 2 quarters, these guys usually play 3 quarters. Spurrier keeps in his offensive starters(non-rookies) well into the 3rd quarter(while playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers). Thats why the numbers are so high, you really think that a couple of second string QBs are good? Your kidding yourself!! Wuerrful and Mathews are career backups.
" but u have to respect his offensive genius"
What genius? He hasn't been a coach in the pros, he hasn't proved $hit yet. Getting paid 5 million a year and he's never coached a NFL game.
BUT...the offensive line is the biggest concern with the Redskins even without a marquee quarterback on the roster. The Redskins have already seen injuries to some of their key line positions and it has affected their depth. Another concern lies with the offense itself and whether the Spurrier offense is just a gimmick that the rest of the league will eventually figure out.

that's PLAYERS... it's the SYSTEM that will succeed... football is football... we aren't comparing players jumping from college to pros, we are comparing a FOOTBALL SYSTEM... preseason stats don't matter - u are right... but for anyone to say the Eagles offense has looked better than the Skins needs to back it up - which cannot be done... that was my reasoning behind the stats... face it, u 2 are wrong... like i said, show me when Matthews or Wuerffel have put up these type of numbers before... ONCE AGAIN, to be a successful QB in Spurrier's system, u don't have to have the strongest arm or the most accurate passer... this system is their system and they have succeeded it with before and they will succeed with it again... again, they ARE NFL players, not college...
<< <i>The main reason is, unlike other Starters(Mcnabb and guys like that) who only play at the longest 2 quarters, these guys usually play 3 quarters. again, please state facts... do not keep listening to the media to provide u with arguments... Spurrier does not play his starters that long at all... if u are calling Wuerffel or Matthews starters, then u must be contradicting yourself on their talent... the Skins put up 16 points (like i said, it could have easily been 21) yesterday against Tampa's first string defense... and yes, Tampa has a GOOD defense... most of the Skins points have come against back-ups, but they have been our 2nd and 3rd string against their 2nd and 3rd string... i have watched every game twice and i go through each play - this is an argument u will NOT win...
<< <i>Redskins will probably be 8-8 like they ended up being last season. ThiTo said the EXACT same things he did last season and look what happened. Last year the offense wasn't as good as this year...but even fans who don’t care about the Washington Redskins are all anxious to see how the new "Fun-N-Gun" offense under Steve Spurrier will perform. The preseason has been kind to Washington as the Redskin quarterbacks are looking like All-Pro’s. But the fact of the matter remains that Danny Weurffel, Shane Matthews, Sage Rosenfels and Patrick Ramsay combined do not equate to a Pro Bowl quarterback. The race for the starting job is a tight one between Weurffel and Matthews but it looks like Weurffel has the upper hand heading into the third preseason game. The running game will still be the strength of the team as long as the offensive line holds up. The Redskins have Ross Tucker and Rod Jones slated as the starting guards and Larry Moore at center. All three players are new to the line, throw in the injury suffered by Chris Samuels at the left tackle spot and there is some reason for concern. Stephen Davis will still have a big role in the offense but the infusion of the new passing game may lead to less carries earlier in the year, keeping Davis fresh for the November and December push.
BUT...the offensive line is the biggest concern with the Redskins even without a marquee quarterback on the roster. The Redskins have already seen injuries to some of their key line positions and it has affected their depth. Derrick, what are u talking about? u are talking about a team u know nothing about...
1st of all, i didn't say the same things last year... i hoped the Skins would be good, but i never predicted the offense to do anything... Spurrier was not here last year and there is no way i could have said the SAME things as i'm saying now... i made no points last year, all i said was the Skins would win... i was talking like a fan who wanted to win - this year i am backing up all my statements...
2nd of all - Rosenfels isn't on the team anymore... he was traded to Miami for a 7th round draft pick...
3rd of all - Wuerffel and Matthews are competeing for the starting position... Wuerffel does APPEAR to have the upper hand, but the Skins are heading into their 5th preseason game, not 3rd...
4th of all - Ross Tucker and Rod Jones are NOT the starting guards... Vickers and Stai (acquired on Friday) are slated to start at the guard spots... Tucker will be a back-up and Jones will not be playing much guard at all... he's struggled at that position so they moved him back to tackle (as a back-up)... he was injured last night so he's not playing at all right now (not a big loss)... Moore is a new player to the team but has performed GREAT so far... Samuels will be ready to play by season opener... i will admit, however, the O-line is the Skins weakest part of the team... but, ON THE OTHER HAND, they have played GREAT in preseason so far and going against defenses such as San Fran, Pittsburgh, and Tampa is saying a lot...
get your facts straight...
We hope he doesn't find out about the REAL jewel there, the Thrashers;we'll be out of teams to root for from there!
Do this Derrick, get season tickets to the Hawks;didn't they offer a rebate if they didn't make the playoffs or something.Do posts on them,we hate Basketball anyway!!
As far as the rest of you bragging on some of these teams;the Giants will suck as long as they have "Tom"Collins as there QB.The Eagles should change thier name to the sparrows, bunch of over achievers & the Cowboys will continue down the same road they have been on;"who has the blow man,who brought the herb dude.Prtty soon they'll have to hold the reunion in the state pen.
As far as all the BS about Spurrier running the score up,go get a life!We are so excited for the Skins. It's going to be a blast watching how this team will change the way football is played in the NFL.It's about time too, things were starting to get boring but lookout because it's going to be an awakening that will be thrilling to behold.
Thank God Marty is gone!
Last nites game was a great example!Fat mouth Sapp overloaded his pickup a$$ once again with his 10 ton mouth. The box office there said that game was the quickest pre season seelout EVER & they could have sold Thousands more tickets.Spurrier Ball is here baby & alot of people find it exciting!! You do realize I live in maryland? Nobody likes the Ravens(except the bandwagonners), everyone and there mother root for the 'Skins. Thats all I ever hear about skins, spurrier, skins. Whenever the nightly news comes on, always something on the 'Skins. So I don't know why you keep saying that.
Like D said, last season you talked smack, but then shutup and didn't say a thing when they didn't make the playoffs. Do you think getting a new coach will change that? Do you think having 2 career second string QB's going out for the starting job will change that? NOPE. Keep thinking(and talking smack) that the 'Skins are gonna "suprise" alot of people, then when the playoffs come around, and there not in it, shutup like you did last season. It's like talking to a brick wall.

when the Skins failed to make the playoffs, i was here... i admitted i was wrong and took my defeat like a man... maybe u weren't here, but i was... i will ALWAYS stand up for my team, win or lose... it was hard going 0-5 in the beginning of last year and hearing everyone talk sh!t, but guess what? i was here and i took it... then they went 5-0 and guess what? i was here and i gave it... it happens both ways - i'm not a fake fan... i am a die-hard Skins fan who bleeds burgundy and gold... i will always be here... the question is, will u?
ThiTo, regardless, they'll still be around the .500 mark. I heard the same crapola from you last year about your precious Redskins, and they sucked...Hell...even the new linebacking corps in Washington sounds like a Dream Team. LeVar Arrington welcomes newcomers Jesse Armstead (Giants) and Jeremiah Trotter (Eagles) as they try to put a hurting on their former teammates within the NFC East. While on paper it looks like a can’t miss deal....remember the redskins team looked that way two years ago when they brought in players like Deion Sanders and Bruce Smith. While the linebackers are getting most of the attention...the secondary is probably even better. The Redskins succeeded in drafting another young secondary stud a season ago when they absolutely stole Fred Smoot in round 2. Smoot will join Champ Bailey as they form what could be the deadliest young combo in the NFL I'll admit...then compound the talent and youth of the starters with the wealth of experience Darrell Green provides and you have a great secondary. Safety Sam Shade may benefit most from the new defense and its coordinator Marvin Lewis. Lewis loves bringing heat from different spots on the football field and Shade has excelled under the tutelage of Lewis to this point.
But the concern lies with the one area not covered by many defensive analysis's…the defensive line. The starters on the line now have lots of experience and are solid players but youth is not on their side and the Redskins aren’t a deep team up front. The depth of the Redskins took a huge blow when Santana Dotson went down for the season earlier in camp. Players like Delbert Cowsette and Carl Powell will be counted on to bring a lot of quality minutes to the game and both are unproven at this point. The Redskins have shown problems with communication in recent years and playing up to their ability on every down. The Redskins want to stop this trend so Marvin Lewis will have a great deal of success.
Yeah, if you don't know, Spurrier is only coaching in the NFL for the cash. Nothing else. How's he gonna "revolutionize" the NFL? fun n' gun? Nope. He was a great college coach, but thats all behind him. You can't compare the NFL to college.
"the Giants will suck as long as they have "Tom"Collins as there QB."
Firstoff, do you remember the 00 Season? When the Giants went to the superbowl? Where have the 'Skins been the past decade? If you've ever read anything I write about the Giants, they've got 2 players they've got to get rid of, Collins and Sehorn. But even as bad as Collins is, he's better than all of the 'Skins QBs combined, and I'd take him over a bunch of second stringers anyday.
"Thank God Marty is gone!"
Wow, the 'Skins players were to spoiled to listen to a good coach. They got there way and got him to leave, but that doesn't change a thing. Marty isn't the reason that the 'Skins had a bad season, it's the players fault.
Thito-

Yeah, had Rosenfels not held out, he would have had a good shot at starting QB. That just shows what lack of talent that the 'Skins have in the QB position.
Like talkin to a brick wall.
you just jump on that bandwagon & show everyone just what a fair weather fan you are.

Even tho THito & I always didn't agree on some things,on this one WE do!! WE think the Skins are going to have a very good year & yes CJ & I also hope the Falcons do to,but then we have been rooting for them even thru the tough times unlike you Derrick!

LMAO!!!! Derrick, did u type that? it looks a lot like u stole some sentences from an article... either way, i appreciate u 'telling' me about my team... i know who's on the Skins and i know where they came from... i also know what they can do... u don't have to convince me about my own team... i know more about the Skins than anyone on this board... not bragging, just sayin u don't have to break it down like i don't know...
and the difference between this year and 2000 is simple - the age and $$$... we OVERspent on Bruce Smith, Deion Sanders, Mark Carrier, and Jeff George... we gave OLD players PAST their prime, WAY too much $$$... u can't say that about our free agents this year... Armstead, Trotter, Wynn, Gardener, Green - all are under 30 years old and have less than 10 years in the NFL... they have MANY great years ahead of them and a few are in the middle of their prime... and unlike 2000, we got some GREAT deals... the Skins had the 3rd LOWEST payroll in the NFL last year and they are hovering around the bottom this season too... there's a big difference between the 2 seasons, they aren't even comparable...
and once again, what are u talking about? the D-line is fine... it's just another strong point on our D... Dotson's loss hurt us, but nothing major... he was a back-up anyways... if Gardener can stay healthy (which is a big 'if'), then we will be more than fine... Wynn is very solid, Wilkinson has looked great this preseason (and if Gardener can stay healthy, Wilkinson's play will be pro-bowl caliber), Gardener is a complete monster, and Bruce Smith has still got a nice pass-rush... now the part that gets me is u say we have no depth... once again, do not let the 'big names' fool u... the Skins deepest area on D is the D-line... Arp, Jackson, Powell, and Cowsette have stepped up HUGE this preseason and it's been against 1st string O-lines... they are making plays and creating havoc in the backfield... our back-up D-lineman have already have 2 scores this preseason (1 INT, 1 fumble - both ran back for TD's)... we have a lot of depth at the D-line spots...
anything else?

"2nd of all - Rosenfels isn't on the team anymore... he was traded to Miami for a 7th round draft pick...
3rd of all - Wuerffel and Matthews are competeing for the starting position... Wuerffel does APPEAR to have the upper hand, but the Skins are heading into their 5th preseason game, not 3rd..."
Yeah, had Rosenfels not held out, he would have had a good shot at starting QB. That just shows what lack of talent that the 'Skins have in the QB position.
Like talkin to a brick wall. >>
Spurrier is NOT coaching in the NFL because of cash... lol u think he needs money? he was offered more by Carolina i believe... he's in the NFL for the challenge and to see if his system works... it's very simple... he's done all he can do at the college level and wants a new challenge... it has nothing to do with $$$...
Rosenfels didn't hold out buddy... he wasn't even a rookie this year... he was a 4th round draft pick LAST YEAR and contrary to what u think, he had NO shot at becoming a starting QB here... he was about to get cut, so instead of just dumping him off, we traded him and got something in return... it also showed a lot of class from the Skins front office... Sage has potential and Spurrier showed him TONS of respect... instead of releasing him, we gave him a chance to make a team as 3rd QB, which he most likely will...
get your facts straight people...
"i am a die-hard Skins fan who bleeds burgundy and gold... i will always be here... the question is, will u? "
Err... I bleed blue motha-ucka. NY Yankees and NY Giants. I'm no fair weather fan.
"and Bruce Smith has still got a nice pass-rush"-
Yeah, after every play last season he had to hold his shoulder b/c of the pain. He outta retire and keep that last shread of dignity he's got.
"the Skins had the 3rd LOWEST payroll in the NFL last year"
Firstoff, why are you talking about last season like the Skins did something worth getting paid more? Just wait until some of the 'Skins big name players come up for free agency, watch that payroll skyrocket.

"You had to resort to a personal attack on me & my son just because you got upset.Go ahead foulmouth,it justs shows your level of intelligence, which is quite low."
Hey man, I usually stay out of stuff that isn't my business. But Derrick is cool, I get arguing with him all the time about the Yankees and Braves. It's fun. No hard feelings man, you take stuff to personally. I've traded with Derrick for about 1-2 years, he's the best trader I've ever dealt with. He's just about given stuff away to me(bob feller auto, tons of rookies). Hell yeah I'ma stick up for D, no reason not to. Great trader, great $hit talker, good friend. Yu take everything to heart man, it's a hobby. Thats it. It's cool that you and your son have something you do together, my Dad(until this year) used to travel cross country
and he'd be home 1-2 months a year. This year he was home for my birthday, he hadn't been home for my birthday for the last 4 years. I wish I had/have alot more quality time with my dad, oh well I can't change that.
<< <i>Yeah, after every play last season he had to hold his shoulder b/c of the pain. He outta retire and keep that last shread of dignity he's got. >>
u tell me not to bring up last season and what do u do? he had surgery and he's fine... watch him play - he's lived in the backfield...
<< <i>Firstoff, why are you talking about last season like the Skins did something worth getting paid more? Just wait until some of the 'Skins big name players come up for free agency, watch that payroll skyrocket. >>
if u read the rest of my sentence, you'd see my parallel... the Skins are SMARTER with the cap and payroll ever since 2000... they made a mistake and learned their lesson... it won't happen again...
what big name players would u be talking about? Jansen and Bailey are the only contracts we have to worry about before next season... u can add Davis to that list, but only to re-work a deal... i'm hoping this can be done or he'll have to be released (i get sad just hearing 'release' and 'Stephen Davis' in the same sentence)... his cap hit next year is over $11 million - a price NO team could afford... but i'm confident that he will re-structure and everything will be fine... that will HELP our cap more, if anything...
once again, get your facts straight...

<< <i>your right about Sage, whoops. But come on, he wanted a "challenge"?? Quit listening to the media and that bs that a new coach says at the press conferences. He came there for the money. Carolina doesn't get any press time, and Washington gets in the papers alot(it's in a big metro area). He wanted the money, nothing to be ashamed of but spilling that bs that he wanted a challenge. Get off it man, think for yourself for once. >>
listening to Spurrier HIMSELF say it is not listening to the media... and if u wanna talk about common sense and thinking for yourself, it's obvious he doesn't NEED THE $$$... the man is rich and he was about to get a new contract at Florida... $$$ is not and was not an issue... it's plain and simple, and yes, very obvious...
as far as 'press time' i'll give u that... Spurrier loves attention and he loves the spotlight - something he'd get in Washington A LOT more than in Carolina, or any other city for that matter... he could have VERY EASILY stayed in Florida and coached at Tampa, but he wanted a bigger and better challenge... Spurrier is the NFL for one reason - to prove his system works...
to say he went to the NFL for $$$ is like saying the owner of Starbuck's went to 7-11 for coffee... give me a break...
<< <i>I just can't wait until the Skins have another par season.....hahaha...a team with Wuerffel as a QB CANNOT succeed in the regular season. Everyone knows preseason doesn't mean shiit. So what if Wuerffel is with his old college coach? College ball is NOTHING like pro ball...oh well, now everyone is gonna run their mouth at me about how I need to "watch the games" and "read about stuff" and trash like that....hahaha.... >>
nah i won't waste my time with that... i'll give u a few sentences and that's all... my favorite part was "a team with Wuerffel as a QB CANNOT succeed in the regular season"... i can't wait til the season starts...
as far as this discussion, everyone is entitled to their own opinions... if u don't think Spurrier will succeed, that is fine... just don't mix opinions with facts... u all look ignorant when u do... like i said, everyone has an opinion on whether he will succeed or not - the truth is NOBODY will know until the season starts...
if the Skins fail, then i will be the 1st to admit i was wrong... but everyone needs to keep in mind it's still his 1st season in the NFL, regardless... this team has a lot of new players and hopefully they won't need long to gel... but it's possible they can struggle at first and then come around later...
all i'm sayin is i believe in my team, while NOBODY else thinks the Skins will do anything... once again, opinions are fine... but if u are wrong, i will let u hear it... and i expect a damn good explanation from all u doubters...
2 weeks and we'll see what happens... no excuses my friends...
The bottom line is this...In the wide-open NFC East anything and everything seems possible. The Redskins will be one of the teams in the NFL that is watched very closely. Overall I think the Redskins will have another year around the .500 mark.
But, I bet you can't wait until the seasons starts though, right? lol...
"and he was about to get a new contract at Florida"-Florida wouldn't have payed him 5 mil a year buddy.
Kingdom of Loathing Rocks!
<< <i>so what if he's already rich! Ever heard of the word greed? Look at Arod. Yeah, he says he went to the Rangers so he can lead the team. BS. Just like Spurrier.
"and he was about to get a new contract at Florida"-Florida wouldn't have payed him 5 mil a year buddy. >>
a-rod went to the team AFTER a contract was given to him... he was offered a less lucrative offer by the team that made him, and he turned it down... THAT'S GREED...
Spurrier made the decision to go the NFL before $$$ was even talked about... it's obvious, he wants the challenge...
so i guess because Kerry Collins signed a contract extension, well he's greedy too, right? or because Butch Davis (former Miami Hurricanes coach) came to the NFL last year that means he's greedy too? use your head man... not everyone is greedy in this world...
u may not like Spurrier, which is fine... but don't speculate on things that are NOT facts... he gave his reasons why he came to the NFL and what reasons do u have NOT to believe him?
it's obvious why he came here... and it's obvious $$$ was NOT a factor...
<< <i>Yeah, sure you won't make any excuses. Lier. Last year you blamed it on Marty, who are you gonna blame this season? >>
nice, call me a liar... at least try to spell it right... shows your class...
and i never blamed anything on Marty... please show me where i did... i liked Marty and given a few more years, he would have turned the Skins into a winning team... but things didn't work out and he's gone... do i miss him? no, not really... but it doesn't mean i blame him for our 8-8 season...
i'm getting off... i'll look forward to reading your ignorance tomorrow...

<< <i>Nothing to show in their history? WHich team came within a few plays of the Super Bowl last season? Yep, the Eagles. Now, about defenses. I'd take the Eagles line and CB's over the Redskins. The Eagles have Corey Simon and Hugh Douglas on the line. At corner they have Troy Vincent, Bobby Taylor, and Al Harris/Lito Sheppard. I don't even know who plays on the Redskins line other than Bruce Smith who's like a hundred years old. At CB they have Champ Bailey, Fred SMoot, and Darrell Green. Granted the Eagles isn't alot better but it still is. >>
lol... a few plays from the Superbowl is NOT the Superbowl... the Eagles are pathetic... the NFC East boasts 10 Superbowl rings and guess what, the Eagles have NONE... i don't call ONE NFC Championship appearance a proud history...
Skins defensive line is Wynn, Wilkinson, Gardener, and Smith... i've gone over this a million times... Wynn and Gardener are pro-bowlers... Wilkinson's play gets better every year and i see no reason why it won't this year either... he's very capable of making the pro bowl and he's been great so far in preseason... Smith is old, yes, but hasn't lost much... all of preseason he's been in the backfield... we have GREAT young depth in Arp, Jackson, Cowsette, and Powell... they are young players who have proven in the preseason they can go against starting O-lines... Simon and Douglass is all the Eagles have... wow? Douglass won't do anything against the Skins as Chris Samuels has owned Douglass 3 out of the 4 games they have played since Samuels was drafted in 2000... Simon is overrated...
Vicent and Taylor are beasts... the Eagles have great safties too... they have a nice secondary, i'll give u that... i'd rank the 2 secondaries like this: Bailey, Vincent, Smoot, Taylor, Green, Harris... the Eagles have the better safties, but the Skins have the better overall corners... if Gardener stays healthy, our D-line is MUCH better than your D-line... if he doesn't stay healthy, they are about equal... and don't compare LB's...
