  • Wow, wouldn't have guessed 1816.

Is that all of them? Might as well make it a contest... winner gets a genuine US precious metal coin, recently won from Russ' contest. image

Dan, after my new post and your edit, we both have the same list. It must be right!

  • Well you've both got the same answer. Luckily, I think you're both wrong. image It might be a trick question. Keep posting if you change your mind!

Do I need to pull out Breen's vs. just my Redbook to figure it out?
Give Blood (Red Bags) & Platelets (Yellow Bags)!
  • That's what I was just doing. image But my thought was wrong.

If that list is the final answer then dddan's got you by 5 minutes, better keep digging!
  • Here's what I was thinking of, I was off by one year:

  • And, by the way, I refer all SBA critics to the above photo. YIKES!

I had been looking for that coin... I knew there was an early copper with a silver plug. 1816 surprised me too!

Good contest. I expected to find a gap in the early thirties. No dimes in 32/33, no quarters in 31/33, no halves in 30/31/32, no dollars in 29/30/31/32/33. Of course gold was sparse those years also.

1977 IKE. Doe's silver clad count as precious metal?
    Larry

  • Yep, silver clad counts, that's what saves 71, 72, 73, 74, 76.

But (arbitrary ruling) errors don't. I'll make an exception if you're looking to sell me a 1977 off-metal Ike. image
  • itsnotjustmeitsnotjustme Posts: 8,777 ✭✭✭
Yes it does. That's what keeps 1971-1974 out. But there is no silver clad Ike in 1977.

    None for sale anyway.

  • Last call to prove this list wrong... I'll check back in the morning.

    1977
    1978

Otherwise fast-fingered Dan wins it by a nose. image

Interesting. I, too, found myself surprised by 1816.

    1793, 1816, 1975, 1977 (if you ignore mint errors), 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, and 1985

I answered before I read the rest of the thread.
  • Since Conder "king trivia" 101 has weighed in, I'll declare Dan the man, congrats!

PM me your address and a bullion coin from one of the silver years is on the way. As soon as I receive it from Russ, that is. image
