Yet another heads up on an Accented Hair auction - beware!

RussRuss Posts: 48,514 ✭✭✭
Another one that swipes pictures from other auctions.

His scans and most of his description came from here.

I sent him an eMail asking if the set pictured is the EXACT set being sold.image

Endo, you want to take a shot at this one?image

He's a new seller. I sent him an email saying that if he doesn't take down the pictures and the description that I'll report him and have his account deleted. They really wouldn't, but it will probably scare him really bad.image

  • Russ, what's an accented hair? How can you tell one apart? I've no clue, Thanks,
It's the "hunt" that makes this such a great hobby...

    JD,

    This should help.

The Accented Hair variety has a wishbone shape group of hairs above the ear, and the lower left serif on the I is truncated. It also has broken rays on the reverse where the stars intersect.

EDIT: Also, the variety exists only in the 1964 proof coins, no other year and not business strikes.

He changed it. This is the email I received back from him.

"I didn't realize you had a copy right on it!!! second of all pictures
    are
copied on E-bay all the time... I again didn't realize you had a trade
    mark
protection on them... I since changed the description and the pictures,
    you
should sleep a little better now."

I wonder how many of the pictures in his other auctions are borrowed image
