standing liberty quarters: a question about luster and strike

Did the 1930 quarters(P) have more luster on the whole compared to their 1929 counterparts? I just traded an AU-1929 for a more attractive and lustrous AU-1930. Part of a cartwheel is still evident under the eagle. Just curious how 2 AU coins can have vastly different lusters. Don't ask about the flat head and right wing, I know that strike in these areas are weak!

1929P: Obv: above-normal strike, frequently comes fully brilliant or satiny white. Beautiful cartwheel effect can be obtained. Struck just about as strongly as the 1930P. Rev: Usually nice strike. Full feathers on the eagle and a bold strike as well.
1930P: Obv: THE strongest strike of all SLQs, with the highest number of FHs available. Head frequently full on some AUs, some even on XFs. Shield usually full as well, all rivets should be there. Rev: Usually strong as many P-mints are. Even breast feathers are better struck than on most other years. Frequently comes frosty or milky white and/or with a beautiful cartwheel effect.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
