Registry Photo Questions

I just picked up a fairly decent digital camera and I want to start shooting some pics for my registry sets.
It's not a real macro camera but it does do clean shots of slabs. Any advice?

Lighting? - for a DCam device
Tripod / Stand Techniques
Editing Tricks to clean up the pics even more

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks

Michael

I use a travel tripod, which is small and manageable. For proofs, an indirect light source is all you really need to highlight cameo. And because the surface is reflective, if you have a black felt drape above the lightsource (like a ceiling for the setup), the coin will reflect the black which enhances the cameo effect. When I take pix for registry, I try to make them look good. When I take pix to sell, I use a different setup to show the coin's weaknesses and strengths.
