Stumbled onto an invoice I wish were mine.

Go take a peek at 341034 . There are 69 coins and 47 are PR69 Dcams, all the others are PR68 Dcams. The submitter must have a great eye. What's interesting is what didn't make 69.

Why anyone would pay a major premium for a 2002 proof anyway?? Common is an obvious understatement.
Yeah, I'm pretty quick for an old guy.
You know, I'm wondering. Didn't Marty have a big submission in?

They won't realize much if any premium, but still that's a pretty big invoice to contain NO clunkers. Cherried is right, I don't believe most of the sets were that nice. Mine wasn't.

My first set was bad, but I managed a 69DCAM on the Kennedy, which was the only one I really cared about. Of course, I had to dip it since it was hazed over. The state quarters sucked a big one, couldn't get enough of the crap off to even bother submitting them.
My second set is even worse then the first. It's going back.

Is it that difficult for a collector to look through a couple of dozen at a show and buy the best. Do they need to pay the extra for the Slab? Or is it the only way the collector can get the better ones because the cream has already been put aside before they get to the bourse floor?? frankly I don't know. I do know from 40 years of coin history that prices are almost always lower 5 years after release than they are when first released and I would assume this will also be the case.

With these, it's more like 5 minutes. Take the 2002 Clad JFK, for example. Those that had 69DCAMs listed right out of the gate were reaping about $45 a crack. Now under $20 and still dropping.

<< <i>What is interesting is the 11 day turnaround on this invoice, did someone actually pay $25 for each of those coins to be graded.

Doubt it, moderns are only $8.50 for my local dealer.

I wish I could get 11 day turnaround for my moderns.

My last one took 12 days. Inv#340958 . Lately, PCGS seems to be pretty quick. The only problem I had was that the grade meter was stuck on PR66.
Coynclecter - I don't disagree.

Those are the same dates for my submission, so my guess is that PCGS just isn't very busy.
Now if you want to see an interesting submission, I accidentally stumbled on to this one 340134; do you think it was copper plated.
