I bought about 60 rolls of Libertads in the original silver wrappers in the past year and paid anywhere between $105.00 to $130.00 per roll depending on the date (1982-1985). The later dates in the 90s go for more though.

  • Ahhh, finally an answer. I was thinking I would get a fast answer from all you guys, as there are 113 peeps on right now ( or atleast it SHOWS that many people logged on right now.)

Thanks, Dragon for the reply.......just wondering if $140 would be too high for the '80 or '83 roll......maybe I should just hold on till I see some OBW or OMW (original mint wrapped) rolls like you are speaking of.

    shortdj,

$140.00 per roll is a little on the high side, but not awful, $110.00-$125.00 is more in line. Also, try to get the rolls in the original Banco De Mexico silver wrapped rolls, they're cool.

I buy at the same price, but would like to say that the Libertad series started in 82. And, I think I have a couple of the tougher dates around here.....88, 94, 95, and a few others as wewll.
  • I am not an expert, but I think that's high for the 83s, as for the 80, they didn't start minting the pure silver libertads until 1982, so if anything that may be an earlier libertad which was only .925 fine. I checked on eBay, and right now they have three listings for rolls, 1983, 1984, and 1985 for $129 to start and a BIN of $135 + $6 shipping. Previous posts are correct in that the 1980s issues are generally lower priced than the ones from the 1990s especially after the redesign. Hope this helps!
  • Well....Dragon....if you wanna slide me one of your 60 rolls, I'd be happy to give you $110-$125!!!!image

  • I knew you guys wouldn't let me down.....so now the info starts pouring in! If you experienced Libertaders could refer me to a good dealer or 2, I would be most humbled.

jtryka: Thanks for the research. I had only found the 2 auctions on 10 coin lots, and I don't believe that the guy selling the '80 was telling about .925 silver (but I could have missed it). RNCHSN: Thanks for the reply.
