Just wondering, thought it might be entertaining to see what sorts of cool coins have been in or through our collections.

My answer is $1,250 for an 1857-S double eagle in AU-55, and I no longer own it.
Supercoin, Did that 7.59 million include the $20 extra charge?
Just kidding.
I think I am one of the lower ones here with about $400, but my Peace $ collection has plans for a few around $1000.
On the other hand, living in So. Cal, I probably paid more for a condo then just about anyone here!

First POTD 9/19/05!!
It was a VERY near gem piece (MS 65 was about $25K at the time). I thought I could upgrade it. I tried twice but it came back in a body-bag the first time and MS64 the second. I was insecure holding it because I just didn't have the savings at the time (I was in over my head). I ended up selling it for the same amount. Today, there would be no way in hell I'd sell that coin.

I still have it.
The most I ever spent was on a 1893-S Morgan $1,000. Still take it over any Ike ever minted! (Including the $7.59 million one) Collections are not about money but what you consider worth owning.
