Need Help Identifying this coin.....

All,
I don't know what kind of coin this is, and its not in terribly good shape, but it is dated 1791. Does anyone know anything about it? I have put up a scan of it on my web page. You can find it here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The coin measures approximately 1 - 1/4 inches across.

Colonial? OK, thanks, its a coin that my father had saved for many years in his dresser drawer, in a 2 x 2 flip, and when he died, it was one of the few things he had written anybodies name on, in this case, mine.

I don't believe this coin to be American in origin. Perhaps British. This is one for our World Coins experts.

I'd say check with the darkside forum... can't locate it in my Krause, but i would guess that it is from the British Empire
