1934 Goudey Set

I was at my local sports card shop yesterday and i overheard the owner talking with someone. The owner said he had just purchased a complete 1934 goudey set from an estate. He said that none of the cards were creased, just corner wear. Anyone have an idea of what it would be worth?

Beckett has the set at 17,000 in exmt condition...
SMR has it at about the same in exmt and at about 34,000 in nm...

you cant be serious, i can only imagin what he had to pay because he said they brought the collection to him and he had to make a formal bid on it, that is amazing
