Well Fred Weinberg is bidding on it and he is one of the top market makers in error coins. That comment is about the only thing I know about error coins.
Very small. I don't know much about error coin values, but this looks insignificant. I like errors you can "see". What are they called? "Mules?"- The obverse of one denomination and the reverse of another denomination. Or a coin struck on the wrong planchet. Those are awesome.

Mr. Paseo, your opinion was requested, educated or not I'm thinking more along Supercoin's line, as the error seems sooo minor, it almost seems like damage. You, or I at least, don't seem to see Buffalo errors all that often though. Hmm...........
Sorry, I forgot to answer the question. For me, even minor errors on Buffalo nickels sell quickly. The last one I had like this, which was circulated, went for over $200.

The vast majority of errors generally carry little premium value except for a few collectors who fancy them.
Since the error looks more like damage to an otherwise beautiful Buff, I wouldn't personally pay full value for it, and would wait for a nicer example if I were looking for that date and grade.
For me Dramatic errors are fun like Huge die cracks, 20% or more off center strikes and other features that give the coin a unique look, but don't look like someone took a hammer to it!
