Who now grades Gallery Mint reproductions?

braddickbraddick Posts: 23,963 ✭✭✭✭✭
I sent in a batch to PCI a couple of months ago only to get them back (with a refund check) stating they no longer "grade" (holder and slab) any type of reproduction.
I've heard that SEGS does.
Are they now alone?
I have a "1794" Flowing Hair dollar that was AT toned a dark gray that PCI holdered about a year ago along with a AT toned (dark brown) 1793 Chain cent. PCI gave the dollar MS64 and the Chain, MS65Brown.

I know that PCGS and NGC don't touch these. ICG will do some (like the "Concept Dollar"). Is SEGS now alone with maybe "Global" grading these too?

  • I don't thing ICG does them anymore either, not even the concepts. I'd say your best bet is Global. They slab the Royal Oak junk so I would expect them to be happy to do the quality Gallery Mint reproductions.

send them to ACG... they'll think they're real!

Conder101 I thought ICG would grade anything. I have seen reproductions in ICG holders but not lately.

I hate it when you see my post before I can edit the spelling.

Always looking for nice type coins

  • Key words "not lately". I seem to recall they issued a PR back in May or June that they would no longer slab the reproductions.
