my cousin likes shane battier. so i gave him a gu jersey (duke jersey) for his birthday. he was VERY happy. this was the first time he heard of something called a gu. he thought it was pretty cool, but said..."what a waste of a GREAT uniform." i gotta agree on this one, why destroy a jersey. i mean, would some company cut up a honus wagner card and put it on another card and say"congradulations...you have an authentic piece of a t206 honus wagner" what's up with that!

Companies don't care. They see it is an investment. Look at it this way. You could sell a vintage game used jersey for $10,000, or you can cut it up and make a few million (since jerseys are spreaded out among different product).
I have nothing against card companies for cutting them up
