R & I usually say's $5.00 on the left side of their auctions and $3.00 at the bottom.
Russ told me once he pay's the $3.00

I just looked at a couple and they changed it from $3.00 to $4.00 for coins up to $100.
  • Anybody on ebay who charges exactly what the USPS charges using a shipping weight scale is good... generally $3-$4 and insurance being extra.
  • i thought that 4 to 5 bucks was ok .. i have seen a lot of posts about this and have not seen any one online offer free shiping unless you buy a coin priced over 300 dollars..

I charge $3 for the first coin and 50 cents for each additional coin no matter how much the coin is and send the coins insured mail. Just got back from post office and mailed 16 packages for $67 dollars. Only collected about $50. I figure ebay is so competitie I need every edge I can get. If I have to eat a little in postage I'll do it to get more bids.

Whenever I run ebay auctions I charge $2 plus exact insurance costs with insurance not generally being an option, rather, it is mandatory. When I sell from my web site or to members of the Board I generally don't charge anything for shipping and pick up the insurance fee myself.

    Placid,

Yep, they just changed their shipping rates. Cost me an extra dollar today!

As for what is "fair" it is the same as in all transactions. "Fair" is whatever the buyer and seller agree to. If you don't think the rate is "fair" you simply move on to the next auction.

That said, on single coins I charge $2.95, which includes insurance, a Safe-T-Mailer and a bubble envelope. Actual P&I is usually $2.13; the rest covers the cost of the packaging.

A fair price is whatever it is worth to you. Just factor it into your bid.

I charge $2 and don't usually charge more for additional coins. Postage costs $1.06 to ship one slab. Add in the costs of the padded mailer, the Safe-T-Mailer, and any aditional packaging and there is no profit left over.

i usually charge 1.75 for shipping in a bubble mailer.
    no extra for extra lots.

insurance is extra at exact USPS costs.

I can't stand the scumbags that try and charge 1.30 for each 50.00 increment!!!!!!! thieves

It is fairly obvious that no one here buys their computer parts off of ebay. Then you can complain about shipping.

There was (is?) one eBay seller of computer memory that charges $25-$40 per memory stick. It should cost under $2 to ship one of these. eBay doesn't seem to care.
