    I'm white(it doesn't matter your race), 5'10-5'11 and 200, but if I get a open lane, I can dunk, not anything spectacular(one handed dunk) but I'm more of a 2 guard b/c I can drive in the lane, shoot from beyond the arch, and play a little post. I'm really trying to drop weight(I want to be around 175-180) so I can play 3B this season(I was shifted over to first last season, which wasn't easy).

    My friend Kyle Shreves is 5'10 with a thick pair of soles on his feet and he's got good ups as well.
  • I was jw cause i live down here in good ole indiana where like no one can dunk but i play 2 guard and small forward imm about 157 i need to add some good pounds of muscle though so i can bang around down in the lane better

    Yeah, you can dunk on a 8 foot goal...one of those kiddy goals...image

    Nah, I'm messing with ya. I'm 6'3 1/2" and I have a 35 inch vertical leap and I'm white as well. If you want to have a great jump, there's always different methods. For me, the best method was getting into a swimming pool in shallow water and try jumping in it. Do this for about 15-30 minutes per day and you'll eventually see a difference later on. It definitely helped me and I can now jump 35 inches or more. Just figured I'd give you, and whoever else is wanting to be able to have a better leap, my method that worked for me. image
  • Thanks D- Just about 7 months ago i was about the same height and could barely touch rim then i had surgery on my leg and after I got done with physical therapy i could almost dunk then kept workn and now i can dunk

    What I do is put on 2 sets of leg weights and get on the stationary bike for 1/2 hour sets. Also, I do alot of squats and I also have a stepping machince(I also have the weights on during stepping). Then, everytime I come inside from outside, I try to touch the roof of my garage(my garage is 1 story high, so roughly 10.5-10.7 ft) and I've been able to touch it for about 6 months now.

    Shawn, I used to do that as well, but it doesn't work as well as the swimming pool method. I remember reading an article by Penny Hardaway and he also uses/used the swimming pool method and he said that it helped him more than anything...and I tried it and it definitely was the way to go. You oughta try it...

    I'm telling you dude...if you have any way to get into a swimming pool (maybe you have a friend, family member, local civic center, etc.), then I'd definitely try that method. I went from 18 inch, to 35 inch in about a year. It's awesome...

    my bro is 5'8... and he can dunk, backwards is his best... but his legs are very huge, muscular

    If you want to add pounds, workout 4-5 days a week and take in alot of calories. Hell, I went from 130 in 9th grade to 200 this year by eating, working out, and eating. I'm in great shape, too. My friends and I get together atleast once a week to play FB, and I play SS, OLB, and DE on defense but on offense I usually play QB or TE. I'm not playing with a bunch of losers either, mostly starters on bennett's(my H.S) basketball and FB teams.
