Adventures in Vancouver

Vancouver Washington that is! I went to check out the coin shops and maybe find some gold coins, but one was closed, I couldn't find the other, and ended up at a third that turned out to be eBay's very own BlueMoonCoins! Well, they had some nice stuff, but no Saints (which is why I brought my checkbook), and most of the stuff they had was in SEGS holders, and I am just a little leery of them. So finding no gold, I decided to look for silver in my favorite hunting activity, half dollar rolls! I got $50 at one branch, and when they called the other branch they said they had $120, but when I got there they only had $91 worth. image That didn't seem suspicious until I looked at one of the rolls on the way home and it said 1968 SIL. When I got home, I found 4 solid rolls of 40% silver from 1966-68, and nothing else. Kinda makes me wonder what was in the lost $29! But I can't complain about $40 in silver clad at face!

Call Vancouver Rare Coin and he will give you directions. Its less than 5 minutes from the I-5 Columbia River Bridge. If my memory serves me correctly he likes Gold. Steve is a nice and knowledgeble Coin Dealer. Has been a Dealer for Years plus he is also a collector. Drat !!
Is this the shop you could not find ? He does not get to the shop untill 11 AM week days and 12 on Saturday if he is not at a Coin Show. He sets up at most of the Tacoma/Seattle area shows which are almost weekly.

    2. Vancouver Rare coin is at like 9th & main right? If so they were closed today and said would be back tomorrow. The other one I tried to find but couldn't was Hazel Dell Coins, but when I called for directions, there was no answer, so I called it a day. I guess I'll save my checkbook for the Portland show in a few weeks.
    3. No, he handles the other coins I guess, but I asked about him, and he said he was in the next office.

I used to live in vancouver Wa. Do they still have those small shows at the tower mall on Mill Plain Blvd? I left that area 4 years ago.
