I recently picked up an intel QX3 microscope on ebay. I received it today (three days shipping but still couldn't get here soon enough).
I have been testing it on some coins with pretty good results, unfortunately boomspeed chose today to "f" with my account so I can't show ya all anything.
It does seem cool for such things as closeup exam of dates and mintmarks which could be useful in verifying such dates as a 1909svdb, also RPMs and RPDs.
It's just too cool not to share

Here a early die state 2002 Sac.
Notice the die guide line? Its for lineing up the devices around the rim. This raised line will eventually disappear as the dies are worked more.

That's cool guys.
Is the Intel Microscope good for checking Full Split Bands, Full Steps, Full Bell Lines, etc.?
Thanks,

The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!

I ground off the plastic extensions on the bottom surrounding the lens area with a benchtop grinder.
Now it works great with the slabs too!

Anyone know?

You cannot (unless it's a really, really small coin).

I've thought of that but also thought I would distroy the scope in the process.

The only setting worth useing for coins is the 60x setting. And thats for seeing die-cracks,struck-throughs, and doubling.
