Idea's for removing toning from a Buffalo 5c?

I once ruined a very nice Buffalo nickel by trying to get rid of the toning and dipped it in isospryol alcohol. Not good. MS70 might do it.

Sodium bensoate...Ya, that is it. If that does not work, I hear boric acid will smooth it out for you...Don't get that stuff on your fingers though...Unless your trying to remove the finger prints from your fingers...

I would agree but this is a MS65-66 1919d, and some moron doctor did a poor job of AT'ing it. Without it removed the services will bodybag it.

I quess I could send it to PCI or ACG for an upgrade to MS70.

NCS seems to be a good choice, however, without seeing the coin and with having no idea what type of AT is on it I can't go any further than that.

If you've got a 19-d Buff. in, potentially, ms/65, 66, what in the world are you thinking? Don't mess with that baby. Send the darn thing to NCS, and be done with it. I would LOVE to see a scan of this one.

amen, don't screw with it, let NCS do it right. I was looking at their before and after pictures yesterday, they can do some amazing things.
