Time Saver!

I'm realizing I often bid on the same coins as another (YN) member. To save time, I now just find what he's bid on, and place my bid. No need to search for hours on end!

Seriously though, it is interesting to keep coming across the same name on many different coins. I'm normally after slightly higher grade coins, but my lower end and his upper end often intersect. To boot, we're neck & neck in one of the registry sets. But, in the end, I only bid what I'd pay for the coin, no premium to keep him from winning. Last one we both bid on, someone else decided to pay more than either of us!

  • Quit swiping the coins that Cameron wants. Shame on you. image

I run into that a lot with another board member on the Complete Type Set as well, except when I see his name first, I usually pass.

I'll just wait for you guys to get all your coins. Then when you all have yours no one else will want them and I can get mine for cheap. image

No they aren't. Nice stuff goes fast and/or for high dollar. I've just ordered a new set of sheets and want to see where the changes are.

I missed an AU58 T1 $1 Gold yesterday. I was watching it and got distracted... came back 10 minutes after it ended.

  • Brian, if you are actively seeking a T1 Gold Dollar, I have found them pretty easy to find at local shows. Don't know what you have down your way anymore though.

    Keith,
They are not a part of any set I'm actively building, but I dream one day of completing the 1792 CNS set (yeah right--more like when what's left is too tough) and moving on to the with gold set. It had caught my eye. Ended up going for straight AU money for the AU58. I realize MS60 money is not much higher, but still I think the buyer got a nice coin for the price.

There doesn't seam to be squat for shows down here at the bottom of MS. There is a show coming in Vicksburg (4 hour drive) in a couple weeks, but I just can't drive 8 hours for a show!Link

  • At the coin that size, the lower MS usually have one or two brutal marks from what I've seen, so an AU piece is quite a bargain. The Type 1 is really cool, being the smallest US coin minted.

  • Bidding against board members is alright, but a YN come on!image Bid all you want. That is the idea of bidding, the highest bidder wins the coins. Now, not having to search ebay and just following me may not be the best idea. I only look for PCGS type coins.
