Well, at long last I received my winning lot from the Heritage Signature sale in NYC, and here's what I got: 1891-S 1895-S 1899-S They aren't superb gems, all AU-58s in NGC slabs, but all in all pretty nice for the money.
JT: Nice buys. All due respect, sir, but you likely donate more to the Indiana University Foundation or Alumni Association annually -- although I have not felt you out on the topic of Bobby becoming a Red Raider -- than I spend on coins ...
Interesting question RGL, but I haven't donated a penny to IU, nor do I have any plans to do so in the future. I haven't for a few reasons, one beacuase it was grad school, and I feel much closer to my undergrad alma mater. Second, having to pay out of state tuition to a state school left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I went to a private school undergrad, and considering their endowment is 1/10th the size of IUs, and they don't get an added kick from taxpayers, I am much more open to their annual giving drive than IUs. And finally, who would give money to a school that fired Bobby Knight???
