Jefferson nickels - MS-65FS???

Hello,

In Coin World Trends - Jefferson 5 cents - there is a column for MS-65FS . What does the FS mean??? I cannot find any reference to it.

    Short for Full Steps.

    It is well struck. So well struck that you can see each individual step on Monticello.
    Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

    Other abreviations you may come across regarding strike are:
    FH Full Head on Standing Liberty Quarters (Many will have flat heads that did not fully stirke)
    FB Fully Split Bands on Mercury Dimes
    FBL Full Bell Line on Franklin Half Dollars

    All indicate strong strikes.
    Give Blood (Red Bags) & Platelets (Yellow Bags)!

    RB- Red/Brown
    RD- Red

    To grade FS, five of the six steps in the center of Monticello have to be intact from
    one end to the other. There can be no breaks caused by weakness of strike or
    scratches. Coins struck since 1989 have to show all 6 steps. Many dates can be
    extraordinarily elusive in full steps.
