    David Hall: President of PCGS
DHRC: PCGS graded coins for prices higher than you would pay elsewhere

A wholly owned subsidiary of Collectors Universe, which also owns PCGS ... Often has very nice coins, but wants very nice prices for them. But, I've bought a few I thought reasonably priced and received great service. If you are OK with the price, you will receive very good service.
  • David Hall? Huh?

    Never heard of him.

    Joe,

I hate to tell you this, but you ain't going to get the $50 Eagle. He uses stock photos, not photos of the actual coin being sold. He will use that as the excuse.

  • what would you do if you were me?

I'd hope they didn't stick me with the $25 gold piece (as in the title) at that price. image

I probably would have just e-mailed them about the error rather than BIN'ing it, as they now have to get their final value fees back from eBay.
  • I just bought 2 JFKs from them on eBay. Haven't received them yet, but have had some good communications with them. Their shipping was a bit high, but I got them to combine shipping and reduce it some.
Plus, I sniped the JFKs and got a pretty good price (I think).

    1979-S Kennedy Half Dollar PCGS PR69DCAM - $12.52
    1981-S Kennedy Half Dollar PCGS PR69DCAM - $13.03

If they show up in good, shape in a timely manner, then I'll be a happy camper.

  • Since he had this listed in his Discription, I wouldn't worry about it.

    Joe,

Who?image See the link at the top of this page listed DHRC, just to the right of PCGS. Anyway, call them tomm and they'll sort it out for you. They're quite helpful.

    Clark,

I've purchased several from DHRC and, frankly, I've had to return more coins to R&I then I have David Hall. He also has excellent prices on some items. Recently I BINed a '73 in PR69DCAM for $35.

Sometimes I wonder if people just slam him because of who he is.

I think you bought an overpriced 1/2oz eagle. Maybe if you are lucky you can tell them you thought it was a 1 oz so they won't make you pay for it.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
  • well if you read the top it says 1986 $25- 1 oz GOLD EAGLE PCGS MS69 note 1 OZ then in the text of the descripton it reads "PCGS Graded 1987 $50 1 oz Gold Eagle MS69

Up for bid is a Gem 1987 MS69 American Eagle $50 1 oz gold. Encapsulated by the top grading service, PCGS. Magnificent eye appeal, fabulous surfaces and spotless, A top graded choice Gem! PCGS has not graded any coins higher. " I dont want to screw them over just save them from a loss I did not know who he was well I was needing to join PCGS hint hint heheh

  • Russ,

Since I really don't know who he is, I'm not going to slam him unless he screws me.

I've been pretty lucky with my eBay purchases (except this one JFK I got that was BUTT-UGLY!) image

    Clark,

I hope you're taking good care of him. I'm getting ready to list the second ugliest 1964 Kennedy proof in eBay history. Perhaps yours would like some company?image

  • I have bought from them several times.
Great coins exactily as discribed--great customer service
What else can you want from anyone?
Try customer service I'm sure they will make it right.

PS sure wish this set-up had a spelling checker. I'm at work and don't have my dictonary with me.

Actually, David could go downstairs, make a $50 eagle and sell it to you at $259 and still make a profit.

Since there was no "meeting of the minds" (you don't know what you bought - a $25 eagle or a $50 eagle) the contract is not enforcable.

I would call them and tell them what happened, they'll apply for a fee credit with ebay and if you play your cards right maybe you can wind up with a free grading for saving them from getting into a dispute with a chuckle head.

Please make as many ounces of gold that you can and I'll buy them at 259 each

What are you guys reading. it says clearly 1 oz gold, the picture is a 50 1 oz gold. Only one place is the $25 listed. It was an obvious mistake but he better not try to send a $25 half ounce.

Frankly, for the $50 loss he would buy a lot of good PR if he honored it at 259

You bought it to keep them from losing money without knowing who he/they is/are?

Does that mean that your intent is to call them and say please don't send coin; I just intervened because you were offering it below market and I thought it was a mistake?

    Really, I don't understand THAT.

  • I just dont want to see anyone loose due to a mistake we all make them and I would hope someone would try to help me out if i made a mistake
