Guys,
Just wondering what your thoughts would be. If you've been reading the safecracking thread you know I have a huge find. I was sleeving up a 63 fleer fb set today and what can I say stunning. My question is would you rather see a 8 or a 9oc. This might be the nicest set in the world without question. At least 15 lock nines with 5 being canidates for 10's no joke. I just want to know if would you rather see a 9oc or a 7 or 8. 40% is dead nuts and the other 60 is borderline oc not bad just borderline. He had 4 sets at one time and sold the other three yrs ago. He has around 60 doubles. He went for clean and not the centering. Out of the whole set not a smudge unbelievable.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking I can alway describe the corners. As for the 60's didn't get to them. Went through the 63 topps and 64 topps, and 64 philly..

Matt -
Sounds like a great find.
The entire 1963 Fleer football set was produced off-center an average of 35 / 65 left to right,
so the centered cards are actually off-centered compared to the norm, if that makes any sense.
Anyway, I agree with Kevin, and avoid cards with qualifiers.
My experience is that straight 8's always bring more than qualified 9's.
Am very interested in any early 1960's football and would be willing to purchase either before or after they've been graded.

Without a doubt 8s are better than 9 o/cs--I would rather have a 7 than a 9 0/c. I have not followed your previous comments on your find but if you are debating selling these raw versus getting them graded, I would choose the latter. I am also sending in a 63 set that is dead mint but with centering issues on most of the cards. Not to question your judgment, but 10s for 1963 cards are exceptionally rare--also don't underestimate how modest centering issues can drop a card down to an 8.
Lastly, if you have them graded I would be interested in any card in theb set in psa 8 or better

Yes I agree 10's are very rare in this issue. Yet I would not be suprised if a few are had in this bunch. As for the centering issue I'm well aware I'll be putting them on the template when I make my submissions. Thanks again thoughts guys.
Wolfbear, I'll contact you tommorrow my email is messed.
THanks Matt
I concur for the nq option. Cards with a qualifier seem to have a disease. Could also use some of those 63 Fleer if they find there way into an 8+ holder.
