New Special, Anyone Get Theirs Back?

Hey,

Just wanted to let you know my grades were posted today for the new special. Seems like PSA is working their tail off after the National. Feel free to check out invoice 8015478, I did fairly well, 18 9's (not including the 3 9 OCs). Only 2 7s, but I kinda expected those, and they won't hurt too bad either. Just wondering if anyone got their new submissions back yet.

Ian

  • Mine was received on 7/28 and still haven't posted. image But I had over 100 cards as well. Nice grades you received. I'm glad to see that PSA is awarding 9s again. There for awhile, I thought there was a moritorium (sp?) on them there for awhile.

moratorium...(I cheated, I used spell check)
  • Yeah, I couldn't buy a 9 on the 1987 WWF cards... Seemed as though they weren't giving out 9's for a little while as well, I did not receive any 9's on the 60's special, and received a ridiculously low number on the modern cards I sent in for the 80s special. The odd thing is, these were some of the leftover from the last special that I didn't send in. I received almost a better number of 9's on the leftovers than on the cherry picked ones.

  • I'm too lazy to use spell check. I wish they had a spell check tool for this forum. Or maybe they do but I'm too lazy to find it. image

Will you be listing any of these on Ebay, if so, let me know your id. If you are interested in selling any of them outright let me know. I am interested in three of the nines you received. Thanks

  • I had a few invoices that arrived on the 5th that haven't been graded yet. I would guessing they would be done early next week due to the National. Maybe they will be done this week (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) image

  • My submission was received on 8/5, and grades were posted 8/14. I sent in a bunch of 77 cloth stickers and managed to get 3 9's including Munson and Palmer image. The rest were mostly 8's with some 7's thrown in. I wasn't really sure how to grade these...

    High grade Redskins (pre 1980)
  • Todd,

Actually, I am using the 74's for my own set. I have a few more 74's for submission, a few may get 9's, which would be duplicates. I'll let you know then after they return.

  • One of my invoices from 8/5 came back today. Maybe the rest will be done this week ... wink wink nudge nudge (hey, it worked once!).

  • Thanks Riccaboni, if you get any duplicates let me know.

I think it should be first in, first out. It's only fair. I'm not complaining about the three or four week turnaround but I see many people getting their cards graded in a week or two.
  • I think part of it is that baseball has a lot longer turn around.
More baseball card submitted than football. That is the only pattern I can see.

I got mine in on 8/5 and still got nothing!

    Alan,

What's the story with the '67 Pagan? Where did you get that card?
  • PSA received my cards july 1st, received my cards last sat. that was 2 weeks faster than I expected. very happy, received a few 8's a ton of 9's & 2 10's, a first for me. plus got a set back which makes me #1 on the set registry for this obscure 80's issue, it's so obscure I'm the 1st to submit these to psa for grading

    Dan,

I think I bought the 67 Pagan at the 2001 National. I found a PSA 8 on ebay for SMR shortly thereafter and just never got around to sending it in because 1) I no longer needed it and 2) It was a marginal 8.

I needed a few cards to get to 25 to submit for the special this last go round (hence, you see that I even dug into my 1971 set) ... so it's really no big loss. I just got the shipment in yesterday and I plan to try to use the card to learn from it. Trimming is the one factor that I have a hard time catching.

    Regards,

    Alan

my registry set special invoice was just posted....cards received on the 5th of August and grades posted 8/20

all cards between 1960 and 1973...........139 of them

38 PSA 9's, 88 PSA 8's, 12 PSA 7's and 1 PSA 8(st)............beats the heck out of the last invoice...

its seems grading has changed (cough) for the better, compared to the posts here last month.....

    Just an observation...

Just got my invoice posted arrived Aug 12th posted Aug 21. Very happy with this turnaround. Submitted 91 1971 Topps got
    20-8's
    64-7's
    1-7oc
    5-6's
    1-trimmed card
Missed the trimmed card and the oc. Expected maybe a few 6's was hoping to get a few more 8's. I knew these are tough I have 150 more I just submitted hope to do a tad better maybe 35-40 percent 8's. I did get three low semi low pops one 5 pop and two 6 pops.I will be using these for my registered set as I started one about two weeks ago. May your submissions do you well.

I also got a quick turnaround time.

    Invoice # 4013123

    1972 Topps Football

    5...PSA 7's
    22.PSA 8's
    4...PSA 9's

These were cards that I got at the National and submitted them while I was there. I put "NO QUALIFIERS" on my submission form...I think that is why I got the 7's. I wasn't sure if the centering could hold the grade.
