What is the card you are most proud of that you sent into PSA

to have graded. A card you bought RAW and sent in. I dont care if there is 100000 of them or one copy. It can be a gomer Pyle card even.image

The reason I ask I sent in a few cards and My 1989 Topps Boggs A.S. recieved a PSA9 . The pop report off hand is 105 submited 1 other PSA 9 ...approx 100 8's. SO 105 submissions 2 PSA 9's. I know it isnt vintage but non the less it is a tough card, I poured through 200 to find 2 cards I thought that would get a 9(sent in one card BTW). Alot of work for a .25 card. But I am proud of myself. I wont mention my first OC card. image

BTW DO you have any Boggs cards Mister? image

A few that top my list were the first four I sent in: 1969 Jackson RC, Ryan, Mantle and Clemente. Received 8, 8, 8, 9 respectively. Also the 1973 Fran Healy which graded a 10. It's only a common but it's my only ten out of about 3,000 vintage cards submitted. Every 9 I receive is also pretty special.

    I summitted a 1933 Goudey Ruth - the yellow pose. I got a PSA 3 and I did not expect a 4.

What I am proud of is that I traded 5 Tiger Woods Masters 7 cards - about 250-300 at the time (I got em for 3-5, and 10 for grade) - for an ungraded Babe Ruth.

  • Picked up a 69 Ryan off of Ebay for my raw set. Got it in and noticed, hell, those corners are nice! It was way off center, but I wanted to see what I'd get.

Came back a 9 MC. Not bad for a $65 purchase! If it didn't have that MC qualifier....one can dream...

Hard to nail down individual card, but here is invoice I am most proud of:
    Invoice # 863142
Considering that as of July there were 1200+ PSA 9's out of over 52,000 submissions.

In retrospect, I am proud of way I built my completed 1956 Topps baseball set. (3 PSA 9's, 329 PSA 8's, 10 PSA 7's). I had stopped collecting by high school, and only started again 2 and 1/2 years ago.

    Here is set breakdown.

    Cards bought graded: 78

Raw cards sent to PSA : (from childhood collection - 133)
(from shows, shops, auctions - 131)

    The breakdown in submissions is:

    PSA 9 - 3
    PSA 8 - 278
    PSA 7 - 178
    PSA 6 - 21
    PSA 5 - 4
    qualifiers - 8

Unfortunately, the only 1955 Bowman card that I have submitted raw to PSA that came back as a PSA 9 MINT is a card that they previously rejected for evidence of trimming. Hopefully, though, with my next submission to PSA, I will have some other raw 1955 beauties that will come back at PSA 9.

I have had great success in many of the Mike Schmidt submissions I have made -- 10s on a whole host of cards -- and very consistent on the 9's. I wish I could say that there was one I was more proud of than any other -- but it doesn't always work like that. I am very proud of the three 1981 Coca Cola Mike Schmidt PSA 9's I got from submissions -- and I am also very proud of the 1987 Fleer League Leaders PSA 10 (when it was the only example of that type I submitted).

Having pored through 10-20,000 raw Mike Schmidt cards, each PSA 9 or 10 that I get back from PSA is a treasure in its own right -- even if it is a 9 that I end up selling because I already have a 10.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

I had a handful of raw 1949 Bowman PCL cards that graded "8". That is the highest grade ever given for any card from that set. I was sad when I made the decision to sell the set to upgrade my 1951 Bowman set. Thankfully, it is in the hands of a collector who has it on the Set Registry.
