why I don't like to use the NGC forum

I am trying to find out what price break, if any, I would get by sending300 or more coins to NGC for grading. Different years and series, just a boatload of coins.

I asked the question on their "forum" and this is the response I got.

Hello there. Your question is specific in nature, not of broad interest, and therefore will not be posted. However, I suggest you call customer service and ask them your question. "Bulk" rates apply only to certain series of coins and in quantities of 100 or more coins all of the same denomination and type.

I called the CS number and the CS guy said he didn't know, I was sent to "Bulk Submissions" 2 times now and no one was there.

lame forum, no CS.

Does anyone know if I can send 300+ coins to either NGC or PCGS and expect any price breaks? all of the coins would be pre 1964 and most would be pre 1940's

    Tom,

I'm sorry to hear of your problems. I too had a post to ``Ask NGC'' not get posted. Instead, I got a PM response. It turned out that I was happy with the response... It helped that the person who responded knew me.

Also, I think you'd have the same frustration with PCGS regarding your question. Why? Because it seems like you have a bulk lot of unsorted material -- as opposed to rolls of 81-S Morgans or some such stuff that make it easy for pre-grading.

And because they won't easily be able to handle your request, they probably haven't bothered to train the customer service folks to deal with such a request...

In any case, I wish you the best in this endeavor!

What a bummer mrdq! I bet 500 people could answer that question here. Bulk submissions are $8 but they have to all be the same TYPE.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
