Coin Organization

Now that my coins returned, I have a decision to make--how to organize my slabbed coins. I have a few options in mind.
First is straight denomination & date organization. This is the most simple and avoids pitfalls of coins used in multiple sets.
Next is by sets. Of course then I need to priority order sets to know where a coin is when it is used in multiple sets. This is specially bad for the 1792 and 20th century type set, where most coins freom one are part of the other.
Other considerations are: what to do with duplicates, extras, and no longer needed coins (what I think of as my sell/trade inventory); how much work it is to add a new coin.
I lean toward denomination/date, but with sell/trade inventory separated.

I should say that I do not have a type set. I store my coins collection and keep the duplicates and sale items separate. Because I don't have coins in duplicate collections I don't have the problem with the same coin being used multiple times. I guess I would use PCGS for that and keep my coins by date and type physically. I know that assumes you have all PCGS coins and most of us have a variety of different slabs and raw coins.
The one thing I am considering is breaking up all my mint sets and putting together an individual modern raw unc collection for all circulating coins post 1963/4 depending upon the series. There would be a couple of others to get, but I would be back to albums for all of those.
Oh, and for your extra just send them to me That way you don't have them cluttering up the place
I keep all the info (data) on CA2000. It is easy to make collection files and the have one or more for type. You can just copy and paste the single coins into your type sets. That way everything is just entered once.
As far as actual storage, I keep all sets together and coins not in a set are in seperate boxes by demon.
