Need help with Jefferson nickel value

Can anyone give an estimate of the retail value of a 1960 Jefferson nickel MS65FS PCGS? The population is 7 with none higher. Thanks for your help.

Pcgs shows $30 they also have a price for 66fs of $60.
The 1961 in fs is the expensive one.

Something does not make sense. How can the value for the 66FS be feasible if there are none graded that high?In addition, with only 7 graded at 65FS, $30 is way off base...actually, $30 is ridiculous.

1960 MS65FS pop 7 is probably worth $900 - 1200.

Don't get me started on the PCGS value guide. It's useless even though they say it's updated daily. I think they are using a geologic time table.

i think they change those sheets about once every year cause they don't seem to reflect actual prices very well.

It's the only place online I know of that gives fs prices. Are there others?

When I'm trying to verify full step prices I check out the dealers with large inventories of full step coins. In addition, I also check Teletrade and EBAY realized prices.

The risk using these sources is that pop numbers have changed dramaticaly for certain full step (FS) coins and market prices have decreased accordingly.

A generic price guide based on recent demand maybe - Pop 1 FS coins may command $5000+, pop 2-3 $3000+, pop 4 -6 $1700+ and pop 7- 10 $900+.

The ultimate question is buy now or wait?
