Ebay Auction 1979 OPC Gretzky BGS 9.5

If you want to see the HOLY GRAIL of all hock cards got o Ebay and look at the very FIRST WAYNE GRETZKY GEM MINT rookie by either PSA or Beckett. The story is at the auction, some guy pulled it at the chicago show. It is truely one of the nicest cards ever. I think even the baseball fanatics can even agree on this.

That card is insaine!!!!!!!!

Blue edges and rough cuts make it impossible as a GEM!!! From the pic in the auction, one would think the seller is an idiot for giving it up to Daveandadams. I mean, how much cash is in that guys hands? Must be less than the $15,000 reserve. I'll be keeping track of that baby......WOW, never thought that card would get a Gem grade ever...

The card was more then likely cut from an uncut sheet. I question this cards authenticity and really can't see it coming from a pack.

Well the story might not be true but even if it comes from a sheet, it's still authentic in my eyes, and probably in the eyes of most hockey collectors with enough cash to throw... even though it's only a couple years older than I am it still has to be the holy grail of hockey collecting

The auction is CLOSED now. The seller took it off...must've gotten a unbelievable deal on the side.

The text at the bottom of this Gretzky RC auction reads:

"On Aug-15-02 at 09:21:24 PDT, seller added the following information:
There was a problem with the description ... we will be relisting this card tonight (8/15/02) Thank You Staff - Dave & Adam's Card World"

It is not back yet....
