Detroit - Nobody can question whether off guard Jerry stackhouse is a talented player because he is definitely among the league's elite off guards, especially after finally learning how to become a team player last season. However, his inability to shoot or protect the ball effectively and his lack of solid one on one defensive skills mean that although stackhouse is an excellent player, he should not be considered a long term "franchise player". To say that stackhouse is not a franchise player is not a knock on his game or personality. It is just that a slasher who can't shoot above 40% is not going to take his team very far.
here's the 2nd article...
Envision yourself in Rick Carlisle’s shoes for a moment, and try to imagine how he felt this past spring as he led Detroit into the playoffs, only to see his #1 offensive option fail to hit open jump shots in nearly every game played. Remember, Stackhouse is the SHOOTING guard. Last time I checked, shooting guards are supposed to hit outside jumpers. Now, if you were Carlisle, how well would you be sleeping at night if you knew that next spring you were once again going to have to turn to Stackhouse and ask him to make shots for you in order to advance in the playoffs?

forget about that bonzi and the fans situation. that has nothing to do w/ who's the better player......
Wells has not had adequate playing time to prove he's better than Stack (although he certainly should have, if he's so good). I think he won't evolve that much, you do. Difference of opinion.
I think that if Bonzi can't make the starting line-up (which if he was good enough in Practice) he would be in the starting line-up.
PRACTICE.......WE'RE TALKING ABOUT PRACTICE...........Yes AI , We are........
