did they make this or are my eyes really need looking at I swear Im looking at one and need some conformatin. I can read the date clear as can be and the coin is in almost a au state.

Yes a few error's were made accoring to the red book.

Before your vision blurs from joy, please take a moment to hold the coin in question up to a magnet. If the coin sticks, it's a standard steel piece that has been plated.

After the magnet test, take another minute to check the "3" in the date for tool marks. A lot of 1948 cents have been altered.

it stuck to the magnet. Its bad when I could not find a magnet till I pulled a speaker out of my car to do the test . It still is a in very nice shape for a conversion item

That 1943 Copper plated thing always ticks me off. The same thing happend to a co-worker of mine as his dad left him 2 1943 Copper cents with the words error and rare on the 2x2's. As one might expect they both failed the magnet test and this guy was really dissappointed.
