How about Slammin Sammy Sosa?

Last 3 Games-

Aug. 8 against SF-
2 for 5, 2 home runs, 4 RBI

Aug. 9 against Col-
2 for 3, double

Aug. 10 against Col-
3 for 4, 3 home runs, 9 RBI

Aug. 11 against Col-
So far, 7th inning-
2 for 4, 1 grand slam, 5 RBI

Thats 9 for 16, 6 homers and 18 RBI in last 4 games

look at this, I guess he's trying hard to make his team win, they've won 2 of last 3 games... I guess when Sammy does good, the team does good

  • I sure hope he sticks around past the 2003 season. The Cubs have the best farm system in the league and several MLB ready prospects that should start next season. If they all play like they can and they get Alou off to a good start, they should be contending for a playoff spot.

Yeah, guess those steroids are starting to kick in eh? imageimage

I wish Babe, Aaron, Mays, Williams, etc., could have played in Coors Field. Man o man...it's too easy nowadays. Parks are smaller, and players are using muscle enhancers. It's a shame...
  • yup, he's trying to finish up his roids so he can be clean for next season.
  • They started kicking in back in 1998.

    Unfortunately.
  • heh, for sammy and mac, but roids have been here since early 90's. They had recent boom now though. Im waiting to see how much of a decline there is in homers next year. So far there have been like a 300% gain of homers each year, maybe more. Im guessing it will drop about 5-10% from where they are at now, and in the next couple years homers will continue to fall as the roids wear off, and the muscle goes back to normal.
  • yeah, he has a chance he could be on them

I think if the Cubs went out and got 2 good hitters, like average of .295 or better that could drive in runs and get on base, they would be a pretty good ball them with sosa, patterson, mcgriff, alou, and bellhorn starting to dig into mlb
and with the good starting pitchers, wood, clement, prior, etc
but they need to work on there bullpen

  • The HRs will go down when the steroids start to wear off. Also, I'm kinda hoping the Cubs can sign Rolen after this season if he decides not to stay in St. Louis. I think that would give them plenty of offense.
