"In fact, sometimes, you read about someone saying that PF69DCs are really just as good, but I invite them to look at this Roosevelt dime."
Yea I'm looking....
Actually, for me it's not a matter of modern bashing but value buying (something alluded to in an earlier thread).
The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin
Well, Im glad that the owner of this dime feels like he has a $9500 investment... Now here's a thought, if each of us could find 10 of these beauties in our junk piles - we could all be driving Porche 911's! I'm checking my pile tonite!!!!
Someone trying to win the lottery at another person's expense. Not surprised at that. As long as the potential to dupe someone into buying your merchandise at a much higher price is available, these types of listings will endure.

What would your slabbed coins be worth if the grading services went out of business? What would your coins be worth if the Internet was taken offline for good?
This soft ball is way too easy for you guys. Nobody ever picks on a $20 PR69 Dcam Kennedy. All moderns, collectors, registry participants are not the same. Now, with that disclaimer out of the way, My best guess, $350 because of the plastic.

I am a serious modern collector too, but the only Proof70 DCAM Roosevelt Dime I would even consider paying $9500 for would be a pre 54 issue, or an MS70 DCAM SMS coin.
This guy goes under the handle "composerbear@aol.com". His name is Bill Bland, and he's an opportunist, if you couldn't tell by the auction or the thread.
This is what I would do if I were him. Resubmit it to PCGS, for a regrade.
Then if it still is DCAM70, it would be worth a grand at most. I mean, PR70DCAM State Quarters go for $1600! Even a MS69 state quarter.
Like I said though, as tough as PCGS grades now(as opposed to what I have heard before), I would say, if it comes back PR70DCAM, then yeh, it's worth quite a bit.
the spots are probably the scanner (maybe a little dirty)... I scanned a 67CAM silver dime yesterday and, although there are a few spots, the coin looks like it has the albino chicken pox in the scan... very hazy and spotty in the scan, but no in real life...
Anybody interested in what the seller has to say??
I bought this coin 5 years ago for $1250...from R&I coins...a year later I bought the 61 in PCGS PF70DC for $2350...at that time it was thought the 61 would be rarer, but it didn't turn out that way.... You can post this information on that board to clarify the truth of the matter, if you wish...I have the bills of sale...

Man, who would pay that kind of money for something they can find in their pocket change???!!!!
OK, am I officially part of the club yet?

Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
Yes, but not at $9500 for this coin.
Hey, I'm a dime collector and I wouldn't give more than $100 for it. It is very nice, but 9500 "GET REAL".

I did a search and couldn't come up with it. Did he get it from Nick (Teetelli)?
