What the heck happened to this 1889-CC Morgan?

The seller says it's "beautiful," which is of course in the eye of the beholder. It's getting a lot of bids, also.

    VF??? Heck just to be regular FINE you have see the lines in the cotton balls. Well circulated, that one's been around. Hey, that's VAM 2 with the doubled 1 and the mintmark set right.
    Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

    Looks like sharpness of VG-10, cleaned LONG ago with baking soda which has left thousands of hairlines all over the surfaces. The color is returning but those hairlines will always be visible. Net grade G-4
  • Condor101 has it right G-4 due to someone Evil having his way with the poor bugger. I think they used sandpaper to apply the baking sodaimage
