Same set different topic. Does anybody know if Mr. Walser is a VERY picky collector? There is one of his coins listed at DLRC that I'm interested in, but it would be a replacement for one I already have. I don't want to drop the money unless it's actually going to be better then my current piece.
Russ, I deal with David Lawrence every couple of months. I have talked to them adout the WW coins and they say he is extremely picky about his coins. He has a bunch of sets that are going to be posted in the next week or so that he sold to buy his new Porcshe. I have got my eye on a few buffalo`s. Also David Lawrence has a no questions asked return policy. They are a pleasure to deal with and will usually e-mail you a pic of the coin if it does not have one on the site.
Thanks for the input. I sent a request for a scan of the coin, but haven't heard back yet. My problem is that I'm fanatically picky, so much so that I'm constantly upgrading coins in the same grade. I'll never have the highest rated set, or even make the top five, but I'm going to have absolutely the best coins possible for the grade.
I may grab the coin without a scan based on the strength of DLRC's reputation and return policy.
Russ try to give Jack or Wyn a call and they will take care of you. Trust me, you are no more obssessive about the eye appeal than I am. Believe me. I have 3 76 Silver JFK`S trying to occupy one spot and 11 P,D 43 pennies trying to fit into 2 spots. They even let me return a coin that I had on layaway for 3 months. How many dealers will do that.? Good luck.
I saw many of Bill's original SLQ's from his full set on the show floor at the TNA -- several dealers picked the set apart very fast, so it wouldn't surprise me if some dealers didn't snag those pieces from D. Lawrence as well.
